Introduced for the 2004 model year as Cadillac’s flagship model, the Cadillac XLR was derived from the Chevy Corvette. The Cadillac was notable for its power-retractable hardtop, well-appointed interior, Magnetic Ride Control, rear-mounted transmission and DOHC powertrain.
Interestingly, the XLR was the first production-spec Cadillac offering available with heated and ventilated seats, along with a radar-based Adaptive Cruise Control system.
Under the hood was the Northstar 4.6L V8 LH2 engine, rated at 320 horsepower and 310 pound-feet of torque. Transmission options consisted of either a five-speed or six-speed automatic.

The XLR-V was capable of accelerating to 60 mph in 4.6 seconds, and boasted a starting MSRP of roughly $97,000 in 2006.
