Cadillac Escalade Diesel

The Cadillac Escalade Diesel was a variant of the Escalade SUV with a turbodiesel engine. Produced across a single generation, it was introduced for the 2021 model year and remained available thru the 2024 model year, after which it was discontinued.

Making its debut in conjunction with the 2021 Cadillac Escalade, the first-gen Escalade Diesel was the first time that a Cadillac has offered a diesel engine since the 1985 DeVille and Fleetwood. Available as an option across all trim levels of the , the 3.0L I6 LM2 turbodiesel Duramax is notable for delivering exceptional level of fuel economy, with the EPA rating the Escalade Diesel at 23 combined mpg.

The I6 DOHC configuration of the LM2 engine offerred greater efficiency from reduced friction, while striking the perfect balance of primary and secondary forces without the need for balancing shafts.

The Escalade Diesel was discontinued due to low demand, as around five percent of 2024 Escalade sales had the diesel engine. This means that the fully-refreshed model, the 2025 Cadillac Escalade, was not offered with a diesel engine.
