We previously expected the Cadillac Escalade to receive a complete overhaul (redesign and re-engineering) for the 2020 model year, and introduce the fifth-generation Escalade. However, this is not the case, as the all-new Escalade will arrive as a 2021 model, so long as complications caused by the COVID-19 pandemic do not result in a delay.
As such, the 2020 Cadillac Escalade ESV represents the sixth model year for the fourth-generation SUV.

The 2020 Escalade ESV offers the following engine and transmisson choices:

Platform
Like all fourth-generation units of the Cadillac Escalade ESV, the 2020 Escalade ESV continues to ride on GM’s GMT K2 platform shared with the Chevrolet Tahoe, Chevrolet Suburban, GMC Yukon and GMC Yukon XL. The same basic architecture is also used by the Chevrolet Silverado and GMC Sierra.
Production
The 2020 Escalade ESV is assembled by GM USA at the GM Arlington plant in Arlington, Texas, USA.
Availability
The 2020 Escalade ESV launched in the fall of the 2019 calendar year.
Beyond 2020
We expect the 2020 model year to be the final year of production for the fourth-gen Escalade and Escalade ESV, meaning the all-new, fifth-gen Escalade should arrive for the 2021 model year and remain in production thru at least the 2025 model year. An all-new, next Cadillac Escalade will launch thereafter.
