2025 Buick Encore GX Updates, Changes, New Features

The 2025 Buick Encore GX receives minor changes for the sixth model year of the subcompact crossover’s first generation.

These changes follow the 2020 Encore GX, which was the model’s introductory year, followed by a mid-cycle refresh for the 2024 Encore GX.

The 2025 Buick Encore GX continues to be offered in the following three trim levels, each available in either FWD or AWD:

Aquamarine Blue Metallic (new for 2025)

Sunrise Red Metallic (discontinued)

Addition of Aquamarine Blue Metallic (GKN) exterior color
Deletion of Sunrise Red Metallic exterior paint (GMF)
Availability changes
- Copper Ice Metallic exterior paint (G98)
  - No longer available on Sport Touring trim
  - Now available on Avenir trim
  - For the 2024 model year, Copper Ice Metallic paint was available on Preferred and Sport Touring trims, but not on Avenir
- White Frost Tricoat exterior paint (GP5)
  - No longer available on Preferred or Sport Touring trims
  - Remains available on Avenir trim
  - For the 2024 model year, White Frost Tricoat paint was available on all three trim levels
Addition of Bright chrome lug nuts (LPO S47)
- This option was not available for the 2024 model year
- Available on all trims
Addition of Wheels locks (LPO SFE)
- Includes four locks and one key
- This option was not available for the 2024 model year
- Available on all trims

Addition of rear cargo net (AP9)
- This option was not available for the 2024 model year, which offered either a Vertical Cargo Net (W2D) or a Horizontal Cargo Net (WH6); the 2025 model continues to offers W2D and WH6, in addition to the new AP9 option
- Available on all trims
New RPO code for Ebony interior on Sport Touring trim
- For the 2024 model year, this colorway was assigned RPO code H74
- For the 2025 model year, this colorway is assigned RPO code H73 on the Sport Touring model

Ecotec 1.2L Turbo engine gains E85 compatibility (FHS)
- For 2024 model year, 1.2L Turbo engine was not E85 compatible and was assigned RPO code LIH
- For 2025 model year, 1.2L Turbo engine is E85 compatible and is assigned RPO code LBP
- Horsepower and torque numbers remain the same at 137 horsepower and 132 pound-feet of torque
- E85 capability is only standard and available on the Preferred trim level in FWD, since that’s the only trim and drivetrain configuration that offers the 1.2L Turbo engine choice
Remote vehicle starter system (BTV) is now standard on Preferred and Sport Touring trims
- For the 2024 model year, this was available on Preferred and Sport Touring trims (as part of the optional Comfort Package), and standard on Avenir
- For the 2025 model year, BTV becomes standard as a standalone feature
