As Buick’s first electric model based on GM’s Ultium battery and Ultium Drive motor technology, the first-generation Buick Electra E5 officially debuted on December 2022. At launch, the all-electric crossover boasted a lineup that included five variants spanning three trim levels: Smart, Enjoy and Avenir. On top of that, the Electra E5 is available in three different battery configurations, which consists of Standard, Long-range and AWD (exclusive to Avenir), offering range figures of 545 km (338 miles), 620 km (385 miles) and 603 km (375 miles) – respectively.

The most powerful variant develops a maximum out of 283 horsepower and 343 pound-feet of torque.

Following an official launch in April 2023, the Electra E5 is the first Buick model to ride on the GM BEV3 platform. At current exchange rates, the electrified crossover features a starting price of 208,900 yuan (about $30,400 USD), which is actually lower than the starting MSRP of the Buick Envision, which stands at 209,900 yuan (or $30,600 USD).
