The Buick Electra E4 is an all-electric crossover marketed by General Motors for the Chinese market. Incidentally, the Electra E4 will not be offered in North American countries.
First Generation
As Buick’s second all-electric model based on GM’s Ultium battery and Ultium Drive motor technology – the first being the Electra E5 – the first-generation Buick Electra E4 is an offering exclusive to the Chinese market. One of the more notable aspects of the E4 is its exterior design, as the electrified crossover features a low roofline and a fastback-like profile, earning it the “crossover coupe” moniker.
Drawing inspiration from Buick’s Pure Design language, the Electra E4 boasts a low-slung look thanks to a large lower faux grille with a raked shark-style nose, and split headlamps with signature winged lighting.
Inside, the Electra E4’s dashboard features a flat, ambient-lit horizontal line that runs the full width of the vehicle, and splits it into two sections, with the Buick Virtual Cockpit system’s curved 30-inch EyeMax 6K display on top. General Motors claims that the cabin offers segment-leading headroom up front, as well as good head and knee room for second-row passengers.
Officially introduced in June 2023, the Buick Electra E4 rides on the GM BEV3 platform. Following an official launch on June 19th, 2023, the electrified crossover went on sale late June 2023.
