Sales of the Chevy, Buick, Cadillac and Baojun brands were up during the month.
The automaker and its partners have sold 3,064,048 new vehicles in the first ten months of 2016.
The plant is currently undergoing a $1.1 billion expansion to build the new CUV.
The sales performance sets a new September record for the month.
The results represent a new August record.
And it doesn’t involve Buick, Cadillac or Chevrolet.
The automaker estimates that the Chinese automotive industry will grow to 30 million vehicle sales by 2020.
The results set a new July sales record.
Deliveries were up 5.3 percent to over 1.8 million vehicles.
A record June for the automaker.
