The investment will cover retooling costs for the next-generation Chevrolet Equinox and GMC Terrain.
According to the CBC, only its Ingersoll plant will be open by 2019.
GM’s “Quest for Zero Landfill” has brought the total number of Zero Waste facilities to 122, including 11 new additions around the world.
The talks have been taking place for the last several weeks.
The plant will have the newfound ability to produce multiple global architectures and body styles.

After a lengthy wait, GMC has unveiled its very first Terrain Denali.
Due to a temporary supply issue, GM will be offering a deal on its V6-powered GMC Terrain and Chevy Equinox crossovers.
Spring Hill is expected to reopen and produce “two mid-sized vehicles” in the not-too-distant future.
According to Automotive News, GM will be hiring up to 100 new hands, while slightly increasing the assembly line speed at its CAMI plant in Ingersoll, Ontario.
