NHTSA Expands Investigation On GM Over Saturn Transmission Issues

The investigation revolves around alleged faulty transmission cables in the car’s four-speed transmission, which may not shift into the proper gear, such as Park.
The Detroit News has pointed out that 674 Cadillac CTS’ have been recalled by General Motors due to an improperly tightened retention nut involved in the braking system of the vehicles.
As per the usual protocol, General Motors will pick up the tab to fix the recall.
As usual, dealers will notify owners, inspect and replace the hinges for free.
The investigation concerned nearly 900,000 models on the road, and the agency has ruled that General Motors must cover the repair bill on each one taken in to resolve the gas gauge issue.
One involves a malfunctioning ESC system, the other has to do with power steering.
The recall is expected to begin on July 13. Owners of the affected vehicles can contact Chevrolet at (800) 630-2438, Cadillac at (800) 458-8006, or GMC at (866) 996-9463.
A GM spokeperson says the company is cooperating with the investigation.
The NHTSA has issued a recall for 865,000 Chevrolet TrailBlazers, GMC Envoys, Buick Rainiers and Saab 9-7s built from 2005-2007 due to faulty gas gauges.
