Back in May, Cars.com’s long term Chevrolet Volt was involved in a crash, which ended up severely crippling it. The car was taken to the collision shop where it got an estimate on paper of — get this — $11,588.
The recall is expected to begin on July 13. Owners of the affected vehicles can contact Chevrolet at (800) 630-2438, Cadillac at (800) 458-8006, or GMC at (866) 996-9463.
For 2011, Cadillac was the highest scoring General Motors brand at 9th place, with an average of 103 problems per 100 vehicles. GMC was 10th, with 104 problems per 100 vehicles.
The results of the latest J.D. Power and Associates Initial Quality Study are in, and several General Motors vehicles managed to win out in their respective segments over their rivals.
A GM spokeperson says the company is cooperating with the investigation.
The NHTSA has issued a recall for 865,000 Chevrolet TrailBlazers, GMC Envoys, Buick Rainiers and Saab 9-7s built from 2005-2007 due to faulty gas gauges.
