The automaker’s Ecuadorian subsidiary officially introduced its new range-topping SUVs to complement the Chevrolet product portfolio, which is strengthening its local presence with a global vehicle offering that meets emerging customer needs. The brand’s three iconic body-on-frame SUVs are now arriving at dealerships across the country.

“With the arrival of the new TrailBlazer High Country and Tahoe Z71, as well as the upcoming launch of the impressive Chevrolet Suburban Z71, we reinforce our commitment to developing vehicles that combine cutting-edge technology, exceptional performance, and maximum comfort,” said Country Manager of GM Ecuador, Oswaldo León. “These are three models designed for demanding users who value power, comfort, and safety,” he added.

Notably, the Chevy Tahoe, Subuurban and TrailBlazer SUVs arriving in Ecuador consolidate the brand’s leadership as a pioneer in the large utility vehicle segment and present the industry’s most complete SUV portfolio with its high-end versions. In fact, this is the first time the Chevy Suburban has been officially introduced in the Ecuadorian market as part of the global celebration of the successful nameplate’s 90th anniversary.

The three models are launched in Ecuador with a single high-end configuration, including the Chevy TrailBlazer High Country as well as the Chevy Tahoe and Suburban in Z71 trim. The TrailBlazer is equipped with the GM turbodiesel 2.8L I4 engine developing 204 horsepower and 376 pound-feet of torque, coupled to the eight-speed automatic transmission, while the Tahoe and Suburban Z71 are equipped with the 5.3L L84 V8 engine generating 355 horsepower and 383 pound-feet, along with GM’s 10-speed automatic transmission.

The new Chevy TrailBlazer and Chevy Tahoe SUVs are now available for sale at the official Chevrolet dealer network in Ecuador, but the flagship Chevy Suburban will arrive in the local market in the coming months as the largest and most expensive model in the brand’s portfolio. All three models come standard with a wealth of technology and safety equipment, leading their respective segments. Here is pricing for the TrailBlazer and Tahoe:

  • 2025 TrailBlazer High Country: $59,990 USD (official currency of the South American country)
  • 2025 Tahoe Z71: $124,999

  1. I am curious to what vehicle this Trailblazer is. It has a 2.8L diesel, so it is obviously not the US Trailblazer version. What platform is it based on? Where is it built?
Thanks GMA for all the great articles.

    1. Brazil and not sure on the platform. Probably a refreshed 2nd generation of the international Trailblazer. I don’t know if Isuzu is still involved. It is no longer sold in ASEAN as Mary discontinued ASEAN sales and production 4 days before COVID.
