The Cadillac F1 team’s journey from conception to approval (and now, to build a race car before the 2026 season starts) has been a thrill ride from start to finish. It should be no surprise, then, that it’s already inspired a documentary – one that will star none other than Keanu Reeves.
TWG Motorsports, General Motors, and the Cadillac F1 team granted special access to KR+SH – Reeves’ company – and North One to produce the documentary. Reeves himself will serve as executive producer and host, hot on the heels of his successful docuseries Brawn: The Impossible Formula 1 Story, which streams on Disney+. Simon Hammerson and Neil Duncanson, the latter of whom is a three-time BAFTA-winning executive producer, will develop the documentary.
The Cadillac F1 documentary will give viewers “an intimate look at the unique challenges of assembling a competitive team on an accelerated timeline” along with “a first-hand account of the vision behind establishing a distinctly American presence in a sport long dominated by European powerhouses.” It’s set to air before Caddy’s F1 debut at Albert Park in Melbourne in March 2026.
“I’m very honored and excited to be a part of telling the remarkable Cadillac Formula 1 Team story and its incredible journey into the world of Formula 1 racing,” Reeves said. “Our goal with the docuseries is to bring audiences into the heart of this journey and showcase what it takes to participate in one of the most exclusive sports arenas in the world.”
“General Motors and TWG Motorsports joined forces on a bold mission – to build a uniquely American Formula 1 team,” said Mark Reuss, GM President. “It’s a thrill to have Keanu Reeves document the Cadillac Formula 1 Team’s journey to our first season in the FIA Formula One World Championship.”
The Cadillac F1 team has yet to announce its driver lineup for 2026. Valtteri Bottas is the most recent addition to the list of prospects, while IndyCar’s Colton Herta has been in the rumor mill, too, along with Sergio Pérez.
As a reminder, until GM Precision Power Units is fully operational, the Cadillac F1 team will source its power units from Ferrari.
