Arkansas Police Performs PIT Maneuver On Fleeing C5 Corvette: Video

A new viral video has hit the web showing a modified C5 Corvette engaged in a high-speed pursuit with Arkansas State Police.

According to a police report, the incident occurred on June 20th, 2024. Police were notified that a vehicle had been stolen from a Walmart parking lot in Pocahontas, Arkansas, and that the perpetrator was believed to be under the influence and driving on a suspended license. An off-duty Pocahontas Police officer later spotted the stolen vehicle heading south on U.S. Highway 63 near Sedgwick.

In the video, which was captured by the dash cam of the pursuing officer, we see police move to pull the Corvette over after spotting it traveling down the highway. The C5 appears to be modified, with custom bodywork and upgraded wheels. After initially pulling cover, the driver then decides to drive off, swerving around traffic and accelerating up to triple-digit speeds, reaching an alleged 113 mph.

We see the officer in pursuit with lights and siren activated. Around the four-minute mark, police pull up alongside the Vette and tell the driver to pull over, but the driver refuses to comply.

We all know what comes next. Around the four-minute, 38-second mark, the pursuing officer performs a tactical vehicle intervention (TVI), also known as a PIT maneuver, forcing the car off the road and into a ditch. The driver then attempts to drive out of the ditch, but the officer blocks the attempt with his patrol car.

The driver eventually exits the vehicle and is arrested. The police report indicates that the driver now faces multiple charges, including driving on a suspended license, improper passing, running a red light, reckless driving, fleeing with substantial risk to others, and driving while under the influence of drugs. The Pocahontas Police Department will also be charging her with vehicle theft.

The report also states that there was no damage to state property after the high-speed chase ended with the TVI maneuver.
