General Motors has just officially introduced the all-new 2026 GMC Terrain in the Middle East, nearly a year after confirming the next-generation compact crossover for the region.

The automaker introduced the completely redesigned 2026 GMC Terrain lineup across key Middle Eastern countries, strengthening GMC’s utility vehicle portfolio in the region. As such, the redesigned third-generation 2026 Terrain arrives in the Southwest Asia sub-region for the first time, redefining GMC’s entry-level model standards with a more modern design, greater interior refinement, and the latest connectivity technologies.

“GMC Middle East proudly introduces the next-generation 2026 GMC Terrain, a bold evolution of the brand’s compact SUV, designed for those who carve their own path,” said GM Middle East in a statement. “Elevating the premium brand’s gateway model, the next-generation Terrain features a fresh new design, refined features and seamless connectivity – ready to take on whatever lies ahead,” the company added.

The 2026 GMC Terrain lineup launches in the Middle East with the model’s full range of available trim levels, including the new entry-level Elevation, the adventure-focused AT4, and the luxurious range-topping Denali. All come standard with a class-leading suite of technology and safety features, as well as multiple customization options to suit customers with different lifestyles.

Mechanically, the entire 2026 GMC Terrain lineup is equipped with the turbocharged 1.5L I4 LSD engine developing 175 horsepower and 184 pound-feet of torque in the Elevation with front-wheel drive, managed by a continuously variable automatic transmission. Engine torque is rated at 203 pound-feet with the all-wheel drivetrain and the eight-speed automatic transmission that are optional on the Elevation, standard on the AT4 and the Denali.

The all-new 2026 GMC Terrain is now available for sale at the brand’s dealer network in Middle Eastern countries, with units imported from the GM San Luis Potosí plant in Mexico. Interested customers will be able to choose the 2026 Terrain in eight different body colors, five interior color combinations, and different 17-, 19-, and 20-inch wheel options. The Elevation variant can also be ordered with the Black Edition appearance package.

For reference, the starting price of the 2026 GMC Terrain in the United Arab Emirates is AED 115,000, or about $31,350 USD at the current exchange rate.

  1. Let’s see if the reintroduction of the AT4 and Denali manages to boost sales. I was able to test a 2025 Elevation trim. The biggest difference from the 2024 is the height from the driver’s perspective. I understand now what Reuss meant when he said the new Terrain was “very truck.”

  2. What horrible tiny underpowered engine. No thanks. Love everything BUT that garbage engine. Give us a choice of engines, something with some actual giddyap without the whine of turbo’s.

There are many other cars to consider with better engine choices. One that I’m currently looking at is the 2026 Honda Passport that has a standard V6 engine; no turbo, seems like it will move the car pretty nicely.

      1. Don’t forget the V6 Blazer.

      2. Yup, that’s what the wife is looking at this weekend

      3. Completely different size class, it is much larger and that V6 is a torque-less wonder. 260 ft lbs at 5k rpm, anyone who prefers that has zero clue on how to align vehicle powertrains with vehicle uses and doesn’t know they can design smaller engines to last longer with much better power delivery.

        1. If the Blazer is much larger than the Terrain, then why is the cargo volume behind the first row listed as 64.2 cubic feet vs. 63.5 for the Terrain? Why is the V6 torque-less wonder rated to tow 3000 lbs. more than the 1.5 torque-rich wonder?

    2. Not for me… but I prefer vehicles made here…

    3. I agree! Same as the Acadia and Traverse with those 4 cyc Turbo.
      I want an ice V6.

      1. So you want a worse driving experience with a car based engine not designed for the platform or actual usage? Got it…

    4. 0-60 in the 8’s is plenty. It has way more torque than many others optional engines and pretty much every standard engine. It is far from under powered. Great little motor, very reliable and better DD experience with all that torque. It would be nice (and it is coming) to have an option engine of the hybrid variety.

Not sure why some of you dated guys hate turbos, they are fantastic. Been used on diesels for decades reliably. It is pretty much free power and lets you ride a wave or torque low in the rev range. In most cases, give me a smaller turbo > a larger NA motor. Better on gas, much better driving dynamics, easier to get the vehicle moving.

  4. The 1.5T is a reliable engine that will satisfy most drivers around town and on the open road. I’m driving my second Terrain 1.5T and I’m happy with the performance. Of course, it would be great if the 2026 model was an HEV. Both my Terrains (previous 2018 & current 2022) were manufactured in Mexico and the build quality is excellent. Unfortunately, I can’t say the same about our previous Cadillac 2019 XT4 and 2021 XT6 both built in the USA; build quality was horrible.
