2026 GMC Canyon Gets This New Paint Color

The 2026 GMC Canyon debuts the third-gen pickup’s fourth model year, and with it, a few modest updates and changes. Chief among these are new aesthetic upgrades that enhance the Canyon’s customization opportunities. Notably, that includes a new exterior paint color.

The 2026 GMC Canyon offers a new exterior paint option.

The new exterior paint color for the 2026 GMC Canyon is dubbed Coastal Dune (paint code G42), and gives the pickup a beige finish. Coastal Dune replaces Deep Bronze Metallic (paint code GXN), the latter of which has been available since the debut of the third-generation Canyon in conjunction with the 2023 model year.

The new Coastal Dune paint option will be available across the entirety of the 2026 Canyon trim level lineup (Elevation, AT4, AT4X, and Denali) and is expected to cost an additional $495. Images of the 2026 GMC Canyon in Coastal Dune paint are currently unavailable. That said, Coastal Dune is also available for the 2026 GMC Sierra EV AT4, so we’re including those pictures for reference.

In addition to the new paint option, the 2026 Canyon  also offers up a few new trim-specific standard wheel options. Elevation trims will now be equipped with the 18-inch Gloss Black aluminum wheels (RPO code QE1), replacing the 18-inch Dark Gray Painted wheels (RPO code RQ8) equipped prior, while the Canyon AT4 swaps the 18-inch Dark Gray machined finish wheels (RPO code RQL) for new 18-inch Gloss Black machined finish aluminum wheels (RPO code QE2).

Another important change for the 2026 model year is the return of the AT4X as a standalone trim. The AT4X was previously offered as a package upgrade for the 2025 AT4, but GMC will now once again offer it as its own distinct trim for 2026.

Mechanically, the 2026 Canyon lineup once again cradles the TurboMax 2.7L I4 L3B gasoline engine, which is rated at 310 horsepower and 430 pound-feet of torque. The L3B connects to the GM eight-speed automatic transmission, while the updated GMT 31XX architecture provides the bones. Vehicle assembly takes place at the GM Wentzville Assembly plant in Missouri.
