The automaker’s Mexican subsidiary confirmed that the 2026 GMC Canyon AT4X will arrive in Mexico during the last quarter of this year as the most advanced off-road variant of the brand’s latest-generation medium truck line, which has had a high level of acceptance among local customers. In fact, the company announced the 2026 Canyon AT4X during the annual meeting with Mexican dealers recently held in Las Vegas, Nevada.

“GMC announced the arrival of the Canyon AT4X in Mexico, the configuration that elevates the premium brand’s off-road performance to the next level,” said Marketing Manager for GMC at GM México, Tere Vera. “The AT4X sub-brand represents the pinnacle of GMC vehicle off-road performance, providing our customers with the brand’s full Professional Grade experience on their most challenging adventures without sacrificing the comfort they expect,” she added.

Notably, the 2026 GMC Canyon AT4X joins the Denali variant, and introduces the AT4X trim level to GMC’s Mexican domestic market for the first time, setting a new standard in the country’s premium off-road pickup segment. The 2026 Canyon AT4X features a more rugged design and features a host of standard off-road components, including side rocker protection and an underbody skid plate.

In addition to a specific front fascia that improves the approach angle up to 33.5 degrees and other functional design details, the 2026 GMC Canyon AT4X is equipped with a suite of software aids for extreme off-roading, integrated within the infotainment system. This includes the Off-Road Performance Display for monitoring various metrics in real time and the Air Down Mode function, which allows tire pressure control for more challenging terrain surfaces.

The new 2026 GMC Canyon AT4X will be available during the fourth quarter of the year at the official GMC Mexico dealer network. Full equipment details of the new range-topping Canyon variant for the Mexican market will be announced as the launch date approaches. 2026 Canyon AT4X units will arrive in Mexico imported from the GM Wentzville plant in Missouri.
