What’s The Difference Between 2025 Chevy Equinox EV LT 1 And LT 2?

The Chevy Equinox EV represents one of the best values in electric vehicles in North America. Its MSRP of under $35,000 is new for the 2025 model year, but the drop in starting price compared to its debut 2024 model year added a little bit of confusion to this electric crossover’s configurators. Now, instead of just the LT and RS trims, the LT trim of the 2025 Chevy Equinox EV is now split into LT 1 and LT 2. Let’s take a look at what that means.

As we often see with GM models, moving up a trim not only adds more standard features, but it unlocks some options that can’t be had at all on the lower trims. For starters, some creature comforts that are optional on LT 1 and standard on LT 2 include the Comfort Package (RPO Y19) and the Active Safety Package 2 (AS2).

The Comfort Package bundles heated front seats, a heated steering wheel, and power lumbar and 8-way adjustment for the driver’s seat. Active Safety Package 2 comes with adaptive cruise control, HD Surround Vision, enhanced automatic emergency braking and lane-keep assist, intersection automatic emergency braking, side bicyclist alert, rear pedestrian alert, traffic sign recognition, and reverse automatic braking.

Features that are standard on LT 2 and unavailable on LT 1 include bright roof rails (V8P) and the Convenience Package (ZL3). The Convenience Package adds creature comforts like 4-way power lumbar adjustment for the driver’s seat, an auto-dimming mirror, a power programmable liftgate, Hitch Guidance, Hitch View, and trailering provisions. Also of note, the LT 1 comes only with a Black interior with cloth seats, while the LT 2 trim gets Evotex seats.

Then there’s the long list of available options that the LT 2 trim unlocks. A few of the more notable ones include color options for the Evotex interior like Black with blue accents (H9F) and Sky Cool Gray (EKD), Convenience Package II (6K5), Active Safety Package 3 (AS3), a dual-panel panoramic sunroof (CAJ), a Black painted roof (41T), and a Summit White painted roof (09T).

There are also several dealer-installed LPO options available when you upgrade to the LT 2 trim, like interior LED footwell lighting (LPO SIM), the Illumination Package (PCN), and Lifestyle Package (PCM), and black roof rack cross rails (VQQ).

The LT 2 trim is desirable if it fits your budget, but the attractive price tag of the LT 1 trim arguably makes the base trim of the 2025 Chevy Equinox EV a better value.

  1. Last month I leased the LT2 trim in black. So far, it’s a nice vehicle and the range is great. However, I still prefer the 2023 Bolt EV that I traded in. The range wasn’t much different (real world driving), but the efficiency on the Bolt was way better. But for many who would be new to the EV’s, this Equinox is a great one.

If I could do it over again, I’d get the LT1 in red or white with the two added packages that give you heated seats/wheel, etc. with a price of $36,995. I would have gotten what I like and not a bunch of stuff I don’t need or want while saving about 5 grand.

  2. I rented a 2025 Equinox EV in April, and everyone who rode with me loved it. I recommend every GM Authority reader to visit your GM dealer and do a test drive. You will return with a big smile!
