General Motors has released a Service Update for select units of the 2023 GMC Canyon for a series of software updates. Service Update number N242451030 applies to certain units of the 2023 GMC Canyon that may require software updates that improve the customer experience and optimize future over-the-air (OTA) updates. This should take certified GM technicians approximately 1.5 hours to perform.
Dealers are instructed to apply the available remedy to any 2023Â GMC Canyon trucks brought to the dealership by their owners for any reason. The fix is also to be applied to any 2023 Canyon units in dealer inventory before they can be sold. The remedy is offered free of charge to owners through October 31st, 2026.
A Customer Service Satisfaction Program issued earlier this year addressed a similar problem, specifically for the 2024 GMC Canyon. Per Customer Satisfaction Program number N242475020, affected 2024 GMC Canyon trucks would be unable to receive over-the-air (OTA) software updates due to the programming of the gateway module.
More recently, certain units of the 2023 through 2024 GMC Canyon pickup, powered by the turbocharged 2.7L I4 L3B gasoline engine, were included in a GM Service Update containing a fix available for a fuel injector flow rate problem. The Engine Control Module (ECM) of the affected GMC Canyon units was incorrectly programmed, per Service Update N242452130.
The 2023 GMC Canyon came exclusively with the turbocharged 2.7L I4 L3B engine in the High-Output tuning, which pumps out 310 horsepower and 430 lb-ft of torque. It rides on the GMT31XX platform shared with the Chevy Colorado. Production takes place at the GM Wentzville plant in Missouri.
Owners of 2023 GMC Canyon pickups with additional questions or comments, or who want more information on the service update, can contact Chevy customer service at the telephone number below, referring to the service update number as needed:

First, I like the new GMA format. Second, will GM ever get the software problems corrected ? Some of these vehicles are ready for trade due to mileage yet they are still experiencing glitches they had on day one.
