Some 2023 Chevy Colorado Units Need A Comprehensive Software Update

General Motors has released a Service Update for select units of the 2023 Chevy Colorado for a series of software updates. Service Update number N242451030 applies to certain units of the 2023 Chevy Colorado that may require software updates that improve the customer experience and optimize future over-the-air (OTA) updates. This should take certified GM technicians approximately 1.5 hours to perform.

Dealers are instructed to apply the available remedy to any 2023 Chevy Colorado trucks brought to the dealership by their owners for any reason. The fix is also to be applied to any 2023 Colorado units in dealer inventory before they can be sold. The remedy is offered free of charge to owners through October 31st, 2026.

A Customer Service Satisfaction Program issued earlier this year addressed a similar problem, specifically for the 2024 Chevy Colorado. Per Customer Satisfaction Program number N242475020, affected 2024 Chevy Colorado trucks would be unable to receive over-the-air (OTA) software updates due to the programming of the gateway module.

More recently, certain units of the 2023 through 2024 Chevy Colorado pickup, powered by the turbocharged 2.7L I4 L2R engine and 2.7L I4 L3B gasoline engines, were included in a GM Service Update containing a fix available for a fuel injector flow rate problem. The Engine Control Module (ECM) of the affected Chevy Colorado units was incorrectly programmed, per Service Update N242452130.

The 2023 Chevy Colorado was available with the turbocharged 2.7L I4 L2R engine, which is rated at 237 horsepower and 260 pound-feet of torque, and the turbocharged 2.7L I4 L3B Turbo Plus engine, which pumps out 310 horsepower and 391 lb-ft of torque. The High-Output tuning turns up the torque to 430 pound-feet. It rides on the GMT31XX platform shared with the GMC Canyon. Production takes place at the GM Wentzville plant in Missouri.

  1. How about my 22 , 6 cylinder z71 that still doesn’t shift right , now heading to stop signs it surges into first gear. Heads up people give your self room as not to rear end the guy in front of you. It’s always had winter cold shift problems but now I get to deal with this. Gm use to make a good transmission, sorry no longer.

  4. I don’t have a new Chevy Colorado but I do have a 2009 model that’s give me trouble with electric issues and computer issues from day one and GM should be trying to fix these issues enstead of trying to make the newer models look like space ships. I’ve been a Chevy man since my first truck a 1978 customer delux with a 350 Elgin and tranny but the tide has turn and I don’t think people at GM give a damn. So tomorrow I’ll be going and picking out a new 2025 KING RANCH FORD!!! After 21 years and they still can’t build a GM product worth bragging about like the late 70s early 80s GM PULL YOUR HEAD OUT YOUR AS.
