Restomod 1972 Chevy Blazer Headed To Florida Summer Special

Bowing for the 1969 model year, the Chevy Blazer was the Bowtie’s answer to the Ford Bronco and International Harvester Scout. The K5 Blazer was built on a cut-down Chevy K10 half-ton pickup frame, making the full-size Blazer the roomier choice in the burgeoning two-door SUV market. Available strictly as a 4×4 for the first production year, the Blazer could be had as a 4×2 beginning in 1970. With a full-length removable hard top, the first-generation Blazer ran from 1969 to 1972.

From the outside, our feature 1972 Chevy Blazer looks like it has had a lift, custom wheels and tires, and a quality paint job done, but there is so much more there. It has been the subject of a full custom build with plenty of parts from Hogan Built incorporated. The Small Block that came from the factory has been replaced by a fuel-injected 6.2-liter LS. The new engine exhales spent gasses through Headman ceramic coated headers, Jet Hot coated dual exhaust, and Magna Flow mufflers. A DeWitts aluminum four core radiator with dual electric fans keeps the LS cool. A four-speed automatic moves power to the wheels, and four-wheel Wilwood power disc brakes tend to stopping duties. The suspension features Deaver Spring four-inch lift springs, FOX 2.0 shocks, upgraded axles, seventeen-inch KMC True Beadlock wheels wrapped in BFGoodrich All Terrain T/As, and an Offroad Design crossover steering system with FOX stabilizers.

The quality of this custom 1972 Chevy Blazer cannot be overstated. Paint prep and execution is of the highest quality, with smoothed firewall and fenders, a powdercoated chassis, and new chrome trim. Inside, we find a custom saddle leather interior, leather-wrapped dash, German square weave carpet, all over Dynamat heat and sound insulation. Climate control is handled by a Vintage Air heat and air conditioning system. Other creature comforts include power steering, tilt steering column, RetroSound multimedia head unit with ten-inch subwoofer, 1500-watt amplifiers, and kick panel speakers. An alarm system keeps everything safe.

This stunning 1972 Chevy Blazer will cross the Mecum Auctions block at its Florida Summer Special Saturday, July 12th.
