Pontiac Grand Am Gets PIT Maneuver During High-Speed Police Chase: Video

A new police chase video has hit the web showing a Pontiac Grand Am on the receiving end of a PIT maneuver executed by Arkansas State Police, resulting in the four-door spinning out and crashing. The driver is then subsequently tased after failing to comply with police orders.

According to the video description and the video overlay, the incident occurred on May 14th at around 11:50 a.m. local time in White County, Arkansas.

A Pontiac Grand Am is boxed in by police.

A police report indicates that officers were advised of a White County deputy in pursuit of a gold Pontiac Grand Am, the latter of which was apparently “driving left of center and careless” near State Highway 13 and State Highway 385. Additional law enforcement joined the pursuit around 45-mile marker.

The video, which was captured by a dash cam on one of the pursuing vehicles, shows police attempting to box the Pontiac in, with a large truck blocking the vehicle ahead, and law enforcement forming up on the side and rear of the vehicle. In response, the Pontiac driver attempts to move around the truck ahead, the latter of which pulls over to the shoulder, providing an avenue for the Grand Am to squeeze through.

The Pontiac driver is then blocked again by a police pickup, only to juke around to the side of the vehicle and accelerate ahead. Police give chase, and the line of vehicles accelerate to over 100 mph before further attempts are made to box the vehicle in. The Pontiac driver continues to move around the pack of police vehicles, accelerating down the road and moving on to the shoulder.

The police vehicle with the dash cam continues to give chase, and before long, speeds are once again registering in the triple-digit range.

Police then move in for a PIT maneuver, and around the four-minute mark in the video, we see law enforcement spin the Pontiac like a top. The driver is later tased while holding a beer bottle and refusing police commands.
