Beauty, as they say, is in the eye of the beholder, and to that end, GM offers a range of different wheel options for the GMC Sierra HD. Among them are the 20-inch Ultra bright machined wheels with bright chrome inserts and Black painted pockets, tagged with RPO code Q7F, and the 20-inch Ultra bright machined wheels with black inserts and Black painted pockets, tagged with RPO code Q7H. The question is – do you think these wheels are ugly?
The wheels in question include spokes that show a highly reflective, almost mirror-like finish, which contrasts sharply with the darker elements of the design. There are eight main split-spoke pairs, creating a geometric pattern that fans out from the center cap. The bright finish and painted pockets give the wheels a deep, textured look.
The center cap is black and displays the Denali logo in raised lettering, anchoring the design with the Denali nameplate. The lug nuts are tucked neatly into recessed holes around the cap, and the entire face of the wheel is shaped with clean, angular lines.
Surrounding the wheels are Goodyear Wrangler All-Terrain tires, which incorporate a thick tread pattern suitable for both on-road and off-road use. The tires add a level of capability and toughness that complements the wheel design.
These wheels are just a few of the options in the broader GMC Sierra HD wheel lineup, with customers also offered a series of 17-inch to 22-inch wheel diameters. Buyers who go for the Denali or Denali Ultimate trim get a series of 20-inch to 22-inch options, with prices ranging from $2,950 to $5,375. Make sure to check out our previous coverage for a more thorough breakdown of the GMC Sierra HD wheel options.
Which leads us to ask – are the 20-inch Ultra bright machined wheels with Black painted pockets ugly, or do they look good to you? What’s your take on this particular roller design? Let us know by voting in the poll below, and make sure to post in the comments as well!

I’m not sure GM has a really good looking wheel on any vehicle anymore!
They look really hard to clean. I’d prefer to see smoother lines, wider spaced spokes, and no black.
Yes, they are ugly.
Not only ugly they’re the worst looking weird wheels GM’s ever put out
now think about this. You want the dealer to replace the wheels!
You have to BUY 4 more wheels when you bought a truck that came with 4 wheels you don’t want
the wheels are ugly & GM sticks it you the buyers with no other option
The wheels and the all black interior is keeping me from buying another one!
The local dealer seems to order nothing but all black interior, I hate them. Told him a few years ago if he thinks he will sell me another pickup off the lot, it better not have all black interior. He ordered one with the gray interior, the only reason I bought it. Do these dealers get a special deal for ordering all black? I hate them, they are hot, show the dust, just hard to keep clean.
Hideous. These wheels look like someone left the shipping cover on them. $95K for a new Denali and immediately another $3K for new wheels.
Looks like a set of gaudy cheap plastic hubcaps available at Walmart, Pep-Boys, or J.C. Whitney.
YUP they’re UGLY !!!
Complete eyesore. Not only are they ugly, but you have to get them in chrome.
Even the High Country wheels are better (AND THEYRE STILL VERY UGLY)
F250 has much nicer looking wheels
Ram 2500 has best looking wheels with the blacked out option.
For the price of the truck and amount of chrome you’d be crazy to go denali/ultimate. AT4 is the only way.
they are polished highly machined aluminum, not chrome. But they are super ugly in any confiquration.
Yup. Fugly!
They look like the toy that starts out like a disc and after you throw it around it turns into a ball.
Probably the plan. Make the stock wheels so ugly you opt to give GM $3295 for an upgrade to good looking wheels and “give” these back to GM for nothing.
Put a set of 18″ Cragar S/Ss on. Why not. One of, if not thee, all time favorite/best wheel ever made.
Very ugly. I hate that I had to spend a lot on my new Denali HD then another $4000 for nice chrome factory wheels that were available as a 2024 option, but not available to order on my 2025. Now I’m stuck with four wheels and tires that I don’t want and will probably have to sell for nearly nothing.
Definitely ugly. I had some that were comparable that came on my Denali and I replaced
UGLY!!!
Every manufacturer makes ugly wheels. Fortunately many models give you a selection of wheels to choose from, even if they cost extra. But some models, e.g., the Sierra Denali Ultimate, don’t’ give you a choice and stick the buyer with an ugly wheel which they are forced to replace. Just give buyers a choice.
The all silver ones are ugly, the black inserts one isn’t too bad but they’re too big. Give more 18″ options.
As of at least the past couple of years, all GM wheels, especially those, are fugly! I’ve at least 12 GM pickups since 1996 but will not buy another until better looking wheels are used.
Yes, they are ugly.
Yes, they are ugly,I have a 2025, the rims look okay but not great. The ones this poll is about look like cheap wheel covers. Not trying to be rude, the rest of the truck looks great.
Respectfully,
Kent
The Q7H is the only attractive wheel among them all. The rest of them are too busy, too clunky.
Just tell the dealers we are not buying anything with ugly wheels, GM should get the message quickly. I can wait, call me when you have some better looking wheels available.
They look like they belong on an EV vehicle, like something KIA or Hyundai have on offer… HIDEOUS!!
This ugly goes way beyond skin deep!
Just TRY and imagine this…. engineers, staff and designers sat in a conference room and literally “Ok’d” those wheels. Let me put it this way. ALL – GMC truck wheels are SO-UGLY… “How ugly are they?”. I believe people don’t buy GMC trucks because of them. I didn’t. Switched from a Canyon to a Colorado for just that reason.. By the way, those, are hideous!!
Worse than ugly. i’m on my 6th Sierra and i wouldn’t even take that for a test drive
Definitely ugly, if they are the wheels you have to take on that model, is the option of taking them to a body shop and having them painted all black? Just asking if that might be an option, rather than spending thousands on new wheels. I agree they actually look like you might order from JC Whitney or the auto isle at Wally World.
Yes Ugly. BUT I have satisfied a few customers by installing the same cap but in chrome and it changes the entire wheel. About $140.00 to make customer buying a $100,000.00 truck happy.
Those wheels aren’t ugly….THEY’RE HIDEOUS!
IMHO, the factory machined 20 inch alloy wheels on my 2020 HD 2500 are pretty good looking for OEM.
They are trying to appeal to third world natives that like “shiny” stuff.
In my opinion, there hasn’t been an attractive wheel offered since about 2005. The black wheel craze mystifies me and there are to many “fancy” designs. Save all that garbage for the customizers. Machined aluminum, argent or chrome with 5 or 6 spokes are the best looks
EVER …
Yes they are ugly. We call them ceiling fan wheels around here.
The GM designers are really out to lunch on their wheels the q7f wheels are fugly, the q7h are tolerable. But there’s so many aftermarket wheels that are much nicer looking I would just stick with the stock wheels that are shipped with the truck and buy aftermarket.
Yes they are Ugly !!! Very Ugly.
Looks like something a 3rd grader designed. The wheels on the chevy custom 2500 are not much better.
Damn! GM, surely you can do better than this. I think you’re going to regret ever letting these wheels grace an otherwise fine looking truck.
I have a 23 model , the polished aluminum is one of the best Denali wheels I have ever seen, I would take those UGLY 24 ,25 wheels off. Put 23 wheels on that truck
