Just after local media leaked the exterior design of the upcoming Wuling Bingo S, Chinese authorities have just revealed the first images of Wuling’s small fully electric crossover.

China’s Ministry of Industry and Information Technology has released SAIC-GM-Wuling’s (SGMW) official future product statement for the upcoming all-electric Wuling Bingo S, revealing the name and early images of the production-ready crossover for the first time ahead of the General Motors joint venture. The Chinese ministry also leaked key specs for the new energy model.

The first leaked images of the upcoming Wuling Bingo S confirm the utility’s final design, while showing a first glimpse of the rear end design of the newest Bingo family member. In addition to combining styling cues from its namesake models along with some functional elements from the larger Wuling Starlight S, the Bingo S features a unique front end and a streamlined rear with full-width horizontal lighting.

Measuring 167.9 inches long, 70.3 inches wide, and 63 inches tall, the upcoming Wuling Bingo S appears to ride on a wider variant of SGMW’s Global Small Electric Vehicle (GSEV) platform with a 102.8-inch wheelbase, identical to its smaller sibling, the Bingo Plus. As such, its measurements position it as a subcompact crossover and the largest model in the Bingo model range.

Technically, the Wuling Bingo S will be powered by a single electric motor mounted on the front axle, developing 75 kW or 100 horsepower, fed by a lithium iron phosphate battery pack, the capacity of which was not revealed in the spec sheet. At the moment, there is also no information on the Bingo S’ driving range or whether it will be offered with other powertrain options.

The upcoming Wuling Bingo S is expected to be officially unveiled in China in the coming weeks and launched in the domestic market later this calendar year, shortly after the start of regular production. The all-new Bingo S will continue Wuling’s expansion into the passenger vehicle category with the Global Silver-branded model portfolio, which already covers a significant portion of the market segments.
