The 2025 GMC Sierra EV introduces a few updates over the initial 2024 model year, including a new battery capacity option. As was the case previously, the 2025 Sierra EV is once again framed as offering all-electric propulsion mated with full-size pickup practicality. Among the most critical specs for prospective buyers is payload capacity, so with that in mind, GM Authority is now taking a closer look at the Sierra EV payload specs.
The 2025 GMC Sierra EV is available in two configurations – the Denali Extended Range, and the Denali Max Range. The Sierra EV Denali Extended Range variant offers a payload capacity up to 1,350 pounds, or approximately 612 kilograms. The Denali Max Range model delivers a slightly higher rating, capable of carrying up to 1,500 pounds, or about 680 kilograms. Both configurations utilize a dual-motor all-wheel-drive system and are built on the GM BT1 platform.

Power and energy storage are provided by two distinct battery setups. The Extended Range model is equipped with a 20-module battery pack rated at 170 kWh (RPO code ETI), with the dual-motor system generation 645 horsepower and 785 pound-feet of torque. Meanwhile, the Max Range variant uses a 24-module battery pack rated at around 204 kWh (RPO code ETN), with output increased to 760 horsepower, and torque once again set at 785 pound-feet of torque.
In terms of towing, the Extended Range leads slightly with a 10,500-pound maximum capacity, compared to 10,000 pounds for the Max Range. Range estimates come in at 390 miles between plugs for the Denali Extended Range and up to 460 miles for the Denali Max Range. Pricing begins at $91,995 and $100,495, respectively, including a $2,095 destination freight charge.
Production of the 2025 GMC Sierra EV is under way now at the GM Factory Zero in Michigan.
