Here Are The 2025 GMC Hummer EV Pickup Payload Capacities

The GMC Hummer EV launched for the 2022 model year, with the first body style out the gates being the Pickup. The Hummer EV SUV launched a few years later for the 2024 model year. While focused primarily on off-roading, the all-electric Hummer Pickup is also equipped with a five-foot rear bed, which means some folks will want to load it up with items and head down the road. With that in mind, we’re taking a closer look at the 2025 GMC Hummer EV Pickup payload capacities.

Both trims are equipped with four-wheel drive as standard, while the 2X runs a two-motor powertrain and the 3X trim runs a three-motor powertrain.

For those readers who may be unaware, a vehicle’s payload capacity is the maximum weight it can safely carry in addition to its own weight. This includes everything and everyone in the vehicle, from cargo in the bed, to the passengers in the cabin, as well as any items mounted on top of or around the vehicle, like rooftop gear or tools. Exceeding the payload limit can affect handling, braking, and safety, and may cause damage to the suspension or frame.

For those folks looking to load their all-electric Hummer up with gear and passengers and set out for the trail, knowing the vehicle payload capacity is key.

Compared to the preceding 2024 model year, the 2025 GMC Hummer EV Pickup offers a few notable updates and changes, including two new exterior colors (Graphite Blue Metallic, color code GAI, and Solar Orange, color code GAG), and the addition of a new Dark Essentials Package (RPO code PDB).

All Hummer EV variants ride on the GM BT1 platform, while vehicle production takes place at the GM Factory Zero plant in Michigan.
