General Motors’ second joint venture in China officially launched the updated 2025 Wuling Starlight new energy sedan, including both fully electric and plug-in hybrid variants, with substantial improvements in range, safety, interior design, and increased comfort. In fact, with the model year changes, the 2025 Starlight strengthens its offering and becomes the sedan with the highest electric range in its class in the Chinese market.

“The 2025 Wuling Starlight EV version features a 69.2 kWh battery pack, the largest in its class, achieving up to 610 km of EV range. With 2C fast-charging capability, it can recharge 300 km of range in just 20 minutes,” said GM China in a statement. “Meanwhile, the PHEV variants use high-power battery cells, increasing peak discharge power by 45 percent for enhanced acceleration even when low on charge,” the company added.

The updated 2025 Wuling Starlight lineup features a total of six variants, comprised of three plug-in hybrids and three EVs, covering the full spectrum of China’s new energy midsize sedan segment, which is largely dominated by local brands. As such, all variants of the 2025 Starlight feature a new interior design with multiple cutting-edge technological enhancements.

Technically, the fully electric 2025 Wuling Starlight comes standard with a single motor driving the front wheels with an output of 150 kW or 201 horsepower and 310 Nm or 229 pound-feet of torque, powered by a new 69.2 kWh battery pack with super-fast charging and a range of 610 km or 379 miles on a single charge. Meanwhile, the Starlight PHEV uses high-power battery cells with class-leading efficiency and driving range.

The updated 2025 Wuling Starlight is now available for sale through SGMW’s official dealer network in China, significantly improving Wuling’s competitiveness against local rivals in the highly popular NEV sedan segment in the Asian country. In addition to the latest Ling OS operating system, the 2025 Starlight also includes a new intelligent semi-autonomous driving system and a more advanced suite of safety features.
