The GMC Hummer EV is offered in two formidable configurations – Pickup and SUV. While both share the same BT1 platform and a range of impressive off-roader tech, the interior specs aren’t totally identical. Now, GM Authority is taking a closer look at the interior dimensions for the two GMC Hummer EV body styles.
Up front, the Pickup and SUV are virtually identical. Both body styles offer 42.5 inches (1,079 mm) of front headroom, 45.6 inches (1,157 mm) of front legroom, 63.9 inches (1,622 mm) of front shoulder room, and 60.5 inches (1,537 mm) of front hip room. These generous dimensions ensure a roomy and comfortable experience for front occupants regardless of the body style.
However, moving into the second row, we start to find a few minor differences. The SUV is slightly roomier in terms of second-row legroom, offering 39.0 inches (991 mm) compared to the Pickup’s 38.9 inches (989 mm). The SUV also provides slightly less rear headroom at 38.4 inches (975 mm), just 0.2 inches shy of the Pickup’s 38.6 inches (980 mm). Rear shoulder and hip room is essentially equal, with both vehicles providing 64.0 inches (1,625 mm) of shoulder space. Finally, the SUV comes in just under the Pickup with regard to rear hip room, measuring in at 60.2 inches (1,529 mm) compared to the Pickup’s 60.3 inches (1,531 mm).
Of course, digging into the cargo volume, there are some pretty obvious differences. Behind the second row, the Hummer EV SUV offers 35.9 cubic feet (1,017 liters) of storage, with that figure expanding to 81.8 cubic feet (2,317 liters) with the second row folded down. Obviously, the Pickup doesn’t offer enclosed rear cargo space like the SUV. Instead, it offers an open cargo bed with 36.7 cubic feet (1,039 liters) of volume, slightly more than the SUV’s behind-the-second-row space, while lacking the flexibility and security of an enclosed cargo area. Both models offer identical eTrunk (front trunk) storage at 11.3 cubic feet (320 liters).
