General Motors has announced that Mike Trevorrow will now serve as the automaker’s new senior vice president of global manufacturing, effective immediately. Trevorrow currently oversees global manufacturing engineering, a role he assumed earlier in 2024, and he will continue to maintain his previous responsibilities while taking on the senior VP role. In the new position, Trevorrow will report directly to GM President Mark Reuss.
Trevorrow’s career with GM began in North American manufacturing, where he held multiple leadership roles before serving in an international post in Japan. He was later named executive director of global body manufacturing engineering in 2013, and also served as plant executive director for the Lansing Region, as well as GM’s vice president of global workplace safety.
Trevorrow was named VP of North American manufacturing in 2023, while early last year, he took on his current role leading global manufacturing engineering, setting the stage for this most recent promotion.
“Mike’s extensive experience in manufacturing operations and engineering, along with his steady leadership, make him the right choice to lead our global manufacturing organization into the future,” said GM President Reuss. “His promotion means we will maintain a strong link between manufacturing engineering and product execution, encourage more collaboration among our teams, and increase the pace of advanced technology and innovation.”
Going forward, Trevorrow will seek to reinforce integration across GM’s manufacturing operations and engineering efforts, aligning execution with product development and innovation. To that end, Trevorrow brings over four decades of experience in manufacturing and engineering, with a proven history of leadership within GM’s global operations. His expanded role places him in charge of more than 95,000 employees working at 110 manufacturing sites spanning 11 countries across four continents.
Trevorrow will also support the automaker’s shift toward software-defined vehicles and the adoption of advanced manufacturing systems, playing a key role in integrating emerging technologies across the company’s global production footprint.

GM you really need to get a fix on the 2020 Sierra 2500HD SLT remote start feature on FOB and the app. The two work randomly.
Mr. Trevorrow I’ve been involved in many areas of manufacturing specifically assembly verification process to help with quality control. Since my retirement 7 years ago I have noticed quality of the once robust engines have taken a huge hit. I’m thinking of replacing my K2XX Sierra for the new up and coming Gen VI V/8. Is it possible to order this new powertrain in the regular cab standard box? In recent years It’s been my desire to order a performance truck that will blow the doors off the F150 coyote. I’m available to meet with one of your team members @ the Fort Wayne Assembly plant to watch my new truck being built to my specifications. I’m sure this is a pipe dream, but @ my age what the heck. Enjoy your new assignment, manufacturing is very challenging. All the best.
