As part of its vision of zero crashes, zero emissions, and zero congestion, GM has just announced that it is accelerating the delivery of its new mobility technologies on a global scale.
The automaker presented a preview of its strategic plan to accelerate new mobility technology deployment to customers around the world, investing in solutions that make its vehicles increasingly safe, intelligent, and sustainable, with users at the center of the transformation. GM seeks to increase the impact of its assisted driving technologies, next-generation batteries, artificial intelligence, and software-defined vehicles.
“At GM, it all starts with our customers. We offer choices across our portfolio of beautifully designed combustion-powered vehicles and the broadest lineup of electric vehicles on the market,” said GM Executive Vice President and President of Global Markets, Rory Harvey. “We are developing cutting-edge driver assistance and semi-autonomous driving technologies to reduce human error, save lives and expand access to intelligent mobility,” he added.
Specifically, GM’s Global Markets arm showcased the company’s latest advancements and new mobility technologies to the international press during a special event at the GM Sloan Engineering Lab in Warren, Michigan. While most solutions are currently only offered in North America, China, and a few international markets, this new division of the company aims to accelerate the delivery of new technologies on a global scale.
To achieve this, GM is expanding the global reach of its next-generation vehicles and adopting a mobility strategy based on four pillars: electrification, connectivity, AI, and software-defined vehicles. To expand access to advanced technologies, the company is investing in more-efficient propulsion systems, innovative digital experiences, and solutions that meet the growing demand for electric vehicles in markets around the world.
Cadillac is leading GM’s global electric offensive and has embarked on its largest international expansion in recent history, bringing its all-electric vehicles to a growing number of key markets in Europe, Oceania, and Asia. The company has also pledged to diversify its product portfolio into more regions, such as South America, where it has announced several electric Chevrolet models, and plans to launch the luxury brand in Brazil.

Nothing says sustainability like poorly made junkmobiles with seizing engines.
Congratulations, soon they’ll manufacture themselves out of a career due to the level of technology programmed into everyday vehicles. Wasn’t the statement made in the past, “The question isn’t can you build it, but rather should you build it?”. After 38 years of providing my engineering services to several automotive manufactures in assembly plants, I’m using my pre-retirement time to assist the over fifty crowd with understanding their new vehicles functionality and technology based systems. And with each customer, I’m asked the same question, “Why are they making it so difficult to drive anymore? I’m not sure if I like this at all, too much to keep up with!” I’m personally not impressed with all the tech used, just build a vehicle with the highest quality parts and materials, simple world class design, engineering and improved safety through unmatched reliability. Stop building mobile PlayStation’s so everyone can be entertained while hurling down the interstate in a eight-thousand pound self driving box.
I’m sorry your are moving away from the world of today, I’m sorry technology is no longer understandable for you. Time for me to enjoy these vehicles, as they are simple to drive and simple to learn and provide all the creature comforts I want.
There’s no need to be sorry, I can read from your first person perspective that you are only worried about yourself and that you lack the empathy for the more mature generations before you. And don’t worry about myself and technology, obviously you missed the key word in my comment, “engineer”. Robotics in a automotive manufacturing process actually, so I’m sure your proficiency with Instagram and TicTok is unmatched as you strike out from your parents basement. So enjoy your Google Assistant, lane departure warning and self parking programs. At least you’ll be about to keep your hands free for more important things like texting your fan base and taking selfies.
I’m sorry you can’t move forward and see how this stuff makes you safer. My Parents are thankful for this tech.
Bring back Auto Android and Apple Car Play. New tech sucks and costs us money!
