Dealer Asking $100K Over Sticker For Cadillac CT5-V Blackwing Lowers Price

We probably don’t have to tell you, dear GM Authority reader, that the Cadillac CT5-V Blackwing is a highly desirable sport sedan, especially when equipped with a manual transmission. It’s such a good luxury car and performance car that few raise an eyebrow at its starting price near the $100k mark. However, Jim Hudson Cadillac of Columbia, South Carolina got a little too ambitious with an asking price of $258,623 for a 2024 Cadillac CT5-V Blackwing.

Now, the dealership has tempered the markup a bit, dropping it from $99,000 to just $35,000. That, plus the $158,080 MSRP, $995 charge for ceramic coating, $299 for window tint, and $249 for digi shield bring the new asking price to $194,623.

Why so expensive? Because it’s number 12 of just 21 examples built of the Cadillac CT5-V Blackwing 20th Anniversary Edition. Offered as a tribute to the V-Series’ 20-year anniversary, just 21 units were made, commemorating the two-decade milestone between 2004 to 2024. Each example was hand-built with a high level of customizability. The Blackwing 20th Anniversary Edition Package (RPO code ZLT) cost $36,000, and that was before additional options like paint, wheels, and other customization options.

Also of note is that it’s still in new condition. This isn’t a used car; it’s presumably been sitting on the dealer lot ever since it was hand-built by GM in 2024. A few extra options on this car include carbon ceramic brakes with red calipers, the Carbon Fiber 1 and Carbon Fiber 2 packages, the Ultraview sunroof, a performance data and video recorder, the parking package, and 19-inch alloy wheels with a satin graphite dark finish. It’s unquestionably a well-optioned Blackwing, but we think its asking price near $200k is still a bit rich.

As a reminder, all units of the CT5-V Blackwing (including this one) cradle the supercharged 6.2L V8 LT4 gasoline engine, which is rated 668 horsepower and 659 pound-feet of torque. All CT5 variants ride on the GM Alpha 2 platform.

  1. Amazing how Dealers markup manuals as manufacturers make less and less because they claim the public has no interest in shifting for themselves. Save the manual!

  2. Anyone paying over list prices for a vehicle is a fool. That and the vehicle is close to being 2 years old. Harley Davidson dealers do this, and the for sale signs go up over their doors soon afterwards.

  6. I own a ZL1 Camaro 2022 and when the time comes to sell, not now, I will consider a Blackwing. However, with my connections and sales history it will be a cold day in hell before I will pay over MSRP. I have bought and sponsored sales of GM cars and trucks for 50 years… yes I am retired from GM.

  8. Just what I want a almost 2 year old car sitting in a dealers lot in the elements. That surely makes it more desirable and a premium price.
