With a high-revving V8 engine and widebody styling, the C8 Corvette Z06 is certainly a lust-worthy machine. Unfortunately, it looks like one would-be thief let that lust get the best of them, only to be thwarted by a dealership window frame. Now, in a new video posted to social media, we see the aftermath of the attempted Z06 heist.
The incident involved a 2025 Chevy Corvette Z06 that was parked in the dealer window at Felix Chevrolet in South Los Angeles, located at the intersection of Jefferson Boulevard and South Figueroa Street. In the video, we see a Rapid Blue Corvette Z06 lodged halfway out of the dealership window. It looks as though the mid-engine sports car was unable to clear the metal framing, halting the thief’s escape and damaging the car and the showroom in the process.
According to the video, the suspect gained access to the dealership by using an electric scooter to smash through a side window. Once inside, the individual located the keys to the Z06 and started the Vette’s engine, only to make a failed attempt to exit through the larger adjacent glass window. The plan was quickly foiled as the car became immobilized mid-exit.
Public safety officers from the University of Southern California, which is located near the dealership, managed to detain the suspect. Police officers arrived shortly thereafter and took the individual into custody.
The Corvette involved in the incident is a high-spec 2025 Z06 3LZ Coupe, which cradles the naturally aspirated 5.5L V8 LT6 rated at 670 horsepower and 460 pound-feet of torque. The example in question is also equipped with the Z07 Performance Package , as well as the pricey (and somewhat rare) Visible Carbon Aero package (RPO code T0G). Felix Chevrolet lists the Z06 with an MSRP of $165,240.

As a reminder, all C8 Corvette variants ride on the GM Y2 platform and are assembled at the GM Bowling Green plant in Kentucky.

#fatigue.
Robert Neville drove a powder blue Mustang though a dealer window too.
I’ll take ‘obscure references’ for $500 Alex. Five stars. 🙂
Alex, What is the opening scene from “Gone in 60 Seconds”?
Omega Man
They’ll be raising the “shoplifting” limit to 1million instead of 1 thousand soon… Glad to be from where the air is clean and shoplifters of any level can be prosecuted.
SMH – How do you start it inside the dealer ?
For Sale – Slightly scraped C8. Salvage Title ?
Why do these dealers still keep the keys around? Why aren’t they locked up? Do not get it!
It will be sold as a demo with some minor scrapes.
Only in Los Angeles. Thier web site still shows the Z06 for sale with a link to “get today’s best price”.
BTW, thank goodness he didn’t get his hands on keys to the ’63 split window Corvette.
Chevy motto, “Find New Roads”. They didn’t mean this, though! LOL
S LA. Finest thrash in the world
Show and name of the idiot thief. We get it, the car was stuck and police quickly arrested the genius. I wanna see this Fool. Also I wonder if the thief is aware of the tracking system built into cars nowadays. GPS signal for the radio is also a way to track the cars. I’m not sure how many out there realize this.
Cops for instance know what car you drive, with a few key swipes on the computer they have real time tracking.
It looks just like if you are using GPS to drive to a location except its the stolen car you are driving to. Really cool stuff.
