GM Authority has learned that more than 27,000 units of the Chevy Silverado 1500 were delivered in the month of May 2025 alone. That’s a little more than one-third of the truck’s Q1 2025 sales performance, which totaled 78,199, meaning it’s slightly outpacing the monthly average for the first quarter.
From the first day of January 2025 through the end of May 2025, the Chevy Silverado 1500 earned a 24-percent market share in the hyper-competitive full-size pickup truck segment in the U.S. The Ford F-150 is consistently the best-selling model in this class, but combining the sales numbers for the Chevy Silverado 1500 and GMC Sierra 1500 makes GM the automaker that sells the most trucks in the U.S.
The Chevy Silverado 1500’s sales performance in the first quarter of this year totaled 78,199, which was down 7.6 percent compared to Q1 2024. However, in the same period, sales of the Chevy Silverado HD line were up 12.4 percent to 47,099 units for Q1 2025. Meanwhile, sales of the Sierra 1500 and Sierra HD were both up by healthy amounts; the grand total shook out to a 4.87-percent rise in GM full-size truck sales for the quarter.
Looking ahead, the 2026 Silverado will primarily be a carryover model with some modest updates, with a full generational overhaul set to debut for the 2027 model year. As covered before, the 2027 Chevy Silverado 1500 will introduce GM’s next-generation sixth-generation Small Block V8 gasoline engine, boasting enhanced performance and a 10-percent reduction in greenhouse gas emissions compared to the current Small Block.
Additionally, the 2027 model is expected to offer a new plug-in hybrid (PHEV) powertrain, per GM’s strategy to reintroduce PHEV options to its North American portfolio.
The 2027 Silverado will also feature a redesigned exterior and interior, while the updated T1-2 platform will be found under the skin.

The Silverado is the number one selling vehicle in my free red state.
Thanks Mel. Love the fun facts about your low GDP state
$527 billion but no state debt.
So-being a Red state, does that directly affect Silverado sales?
Curious…….
Maybe, lots of hardworking people.
GM definitely knocked it out of the park with the current gen Silvy. Can only get better with the new model coming.
That rendering, while it borrows heavily from the Tahoe, is pretty tasty.
It’s missing the horizontal chrome bars in grill like the previous one better. Will have to get a 25 or 26 1500 or jump to an HD.
Why has the chrome/painted metal front bumper been REPLACED with plastic crap?? This is a Full-Sized Pickup. The Steel front bumper should remain, instead of being DOWNGRADED to crappy plastic. The plastification of All of Auto-Dom is nearly complete.
