About Chevrolet Malibu

The 2025 Chevy Malibu arrived as the tenth and final model year of the ninth-generation nameplate with only one significant change: a new paint option, specifically Night Shade Metallic. Check out all the 2025 Malibu paint colors, interior colorways and wheel options.

The Bow Tie brand’s sole sedan offers just one powertrain option, namely the turbocharged 1.5L I4 LFV gasoline engine that produces 163 horsepower and 184 pound-feet of torque. The only drivetrain configuration is front-wheel-drive connected to a continuously variable transmission. It can tow up to 1,000 pounds.

Pricing for the 2025 Malibu reveals a starting price for the LS trim is now $800 more expensive, while the RS trim costs $900 more. The 1LT and 2LT trims are up by $100. These include the destination freight charge increase of $100 to $1,195. Check out all the 2025 Malibu pricing with options and packages.

Production of the 2025 Chevy Malibu ended on November 15th at the GM Fairfax plant in Kansas City, Kansas, to make way for the upcoming next-generation 2026 Chevy Bolt EV small all-electric crossover. The last example of the Malibu built ends the storied nameplate’s run, while also being the last of the Bow Tie brand’s remaining sedans.

As of mid-March, only a few thousand new Chevy Malibu units are left on U.S. dealer lots.

The online configurator tool is still live for the 2025 Malibu.

  • It would be nice to have an update on a new 10th gen. With the recent announcement of $4 billion on upgrades to 3 factories, missing in all the discussion was news on a new Bu. There was talk about a new model coming soon, perhaps an EV. It's a huge mistake should GM abandoned this segment.

    • I agree with you. If it comes an EV to substitue the Bu, I hope it´s a sedan and not another abominable SUV or crossover.

  • "It's a huge mistake should GM abandoned this segment."

    A purchase is a vote.
    What's in your driveway?

    • An Opel Ampera/ Chevy Volt, a 1979 Chevy Malibu, and a 1995 Ford Scorpio Cosworth. I agree completely with you. It´s a huge mistake (another one) of GM abandoning this segment. Not everybody like SUV´s or crossovers or is willing to buy one no matter what. Audi sells sedans succesfully (among other brands). I don´t see why GM wouldn´t be able.

      • ???????????? I have a 2025 trax. I got tons of cargo space. Just fold the back seats down . Perhaps that will help. I think you already have an ABUNDANCE of cargo
space. BUTT not in your car. So many misguided comments so little time.

    • Of the five vehicles in the family fleet, three are sedans including a 2016 Regal and 2019 Regal TourX. My wife's 2018 Enclave is the only SUV in the mix.

  • Wasn’t this car discontinued last November? Why are they still sitting on lots 8 months later.
