Competitive Sales Comparison (USA)
During Q1 2025, Chevy Blazer EV placed fifth among six entries in the mainstream midsize electric vehicle (EV) crossover segment, when ranked by sales volume.

The Hyundai Ioniq 5 took third as sales grew 26 percent to 8,611 units, while the Volkswagen ID.4 followed in fourth with a 24 percent bump to 7,663 units. The Blazer EV (see running Chevy Blazer EV sales) placed fifth with a nine-fold increase to 6,187 sales. The Kia EV6, the Ioniq 5’s corporate cousin and platform mate, finished out the list with an eight percent slide for 3,738 deliveries.

The Blazer EV earned a 13 percent segment share, up 11 percent for the biggest gain in this space. In fact, the Blazer EV’s 932 percent growth rate was also the highest in the segment.
The Mustang Mach-E posted a 25 percent share, the Prologue a 20 percent share, and the Ioniq 5 an 18 percent share. Meanwhile, the ID.4 held a 16 percent share and the EV6 finished with an eight percent share.
The mainstream midsize EV crossover segment expanded 74 percent for 47,367 deliveries during Q1 2025.
The Chevy Blazer EV competes in the mainstream midsize EV crossover SUV segment, in which we currently include mainstream (non-luxury) battery electric vehicles that fit into the Midsize (D) space. Beyond this marketplace, the remaining BEV arena includes premium models from Tesla, Audi, Porsche, Cadillac, Acura, Jaguar, VinFast, and Genesis. Consequently, we don’t include Tesla models in the mainstream EV crossover segment sales analysis since they are considered premium/luxury models.
It’s also worth noting that some mainstream models also include variants with an internal combustion engine (ICE) and/or hybrid (HEV) and/or plug-in hybrid (PHEV) version. That includes the Hyundai Santa Fe, Kia Sorento, and Mazda CX-70. Consequently, these models do not compare directly to the Chevy Blazer EV. As a result, they are not included in our analysis. Additionally, while the Ioniq 5 is a crossover, the similarly named Ioniq 6 is an all-electric sedan and is not included either.
The GM Authority Take
Well into its second year on sale, the Chevy Blazer EV posted huge gains year-over-year, but was still outsold by most of the models in the mainstream midsize EV crossover space.
One of the models that the Bow Tie brand’s all-electric midsizer competes against is the Honda Prologue, which is ironically built by GM at a GM plant, and is underpinned by a GM platform and tech, including GM Ultium Drive motors and a GM Ultium battery pack.
Chevy also sells the compact Equinox EV crossover, which may be taking sales from the Blazer EV, while Honda, conversely, only offers one all-electric model as of this writing. The Equinox EV moved 10,329 units while the Blazer EV posted 6,187 deliveries, for a combined total of 16,516 sales for the Bow Tie brand, outpacing any competitor here, including Honda and the Hyundai-Kia duo. Not surprisingly, Chevy is currently the fastest growing EV brand in the U.S.

We expect sales of the Blazer EV and Equinox EV to continue growing so long as production and supply rates allow. Additionally, the recently-launched high-performance SS variant of the Blazer EV gives Chevy an edge while also providing a solid rival to the Kia EV6 GT.
