Chevrolet Chile Sales Down 20 Percent In April 2025

Chevrolet Chile sales decreased 20 percent to 1,292 units in April 2025. The figures place Chevrolet as the country’s sixth best-selling automobile brand during the month, behind Toyota, Suzuki, Hyundai, Kia and Ford.

Chilean auto sales figures are limited since reporting only shows the best-selling models in each segment. As such, no sales data is available for vehicles that sell in lower volumes. Nevertheless, individual Chevy model sales performance (for models for which sales data is available) was as follows:

During the first four months of the 2025 calendar year, Chevrolet Chile sales decreased 14 percent to 5,547 units.

The notable double-digit drop in Chevrolet Chile sales in April continues to deepen the brand’s slump in the South American country, which has led to a consistent drop-off in sales volume and market share. In fact, the April decrease represents the fourth consecutive contraction suffered by Chevrolet in the Chilean market, and also one of the lowest monthly sales figures in recent history, causing it to drop to sixth place among the market’s best-selling brands.

Most models offered by Chevrolet in Chile suffered considerable double-digit declines in April, cumulatively sapping a total of 317 units from the bottom line on a year-over-year basis. The Chevy Montana compact pickup was impacted the most, recording the biggest drop in terms of the rate of change and overall sales volume, losing 114 deliveries year-over-year. This was further exacerbated by the collapse in sales of models like the Chevy Onix and Tracker, which previously posted solid performance levels in Chile.

For its part, the best-selling Chevy Groove also experienced a notable drop of 62 units in volume compared to April 2024. With this, Chevy’s entry-level crossover continues to lose its footing and market share, no longer being the best-selling utility vehicle in Chile. In contrast, the Bow Tie’s commercial truck line as well as the Chevy Sail were the only models that managed to post sales gains in April.
