The GM Authority Take

Chevrolet sales in Argentina posted a strong increase in April, extending the brand’s strong performance in 2025. In fact, the Bowtie brand has now seen five consecutive months of growth in the Argentine market thanks to the recovery of the automotive sector and the steady increase in local demand. While the increase in April wasn’t in the triple digits like in previous months, the 4,109 deliveries represented the highest figure Chevrolet has achieved so far this year in the South American country.

Nearly all Chevrolet models sold in Argentina saw significant growth of up to four digits in April, with the sole exceptions being the previous-generation Chevy Equinox, which is ending its sales cycle in the local market, and the discontinued Chevy Cruze. As in the most recent past, Chevy’s growth was driven by strong performance of the best-selling Chevy Tracker, which increased its volume by almost 500 units year-over-year, consolidating its position as the marque’s most popular model.

However, the Chevy Onix remains the model with the most substantial growth across the entire Chevrolet portfolio, adding nearly 900 units year-over-year. Also notable was the strong performance of the Brazilian-made Chevy S10, which dramatically improved its position in Argentina’s highly-contested pickup truck segment, outperforming some locally-manufactured models. Finally, the Chevy TrailBlazer SUV and Montana posted the highest percentage growth rates for the month.

Chevrolet sales volume isn’t significant in Argentina when compared to markets like the U.S., where the brand constantly delivers over 100K units a month. However, Argentina is one of two crucial markets for GM in South America (the other being Brazil), and solid performance in both is key to the automaker retaining its local manufacturing footprint with the appropriate sales volume, as opposed to a national sales company, which Ford recently became in Brazil.
