Cadillac Dealer Inventory Drops Mildly In April 2025

New-vehicle sales usually rise in springtime, and this year is no different. However, U.S. consumers may have accelerated their shopping process before possible price increases due to the Trump administration’s import tariffs. As a result, new-vehicle inventories dipped in April 2025, including in Cadillac dealerships.

According to the latest data provided by Cox Automotive, Cadillac had an 83 days supply during the month of April 2025, a drop from the 86 days supply figure recorded the month before. On the other hand, inventory is currently higher than April 2024’s 72 days supply.

A graph showing dealer inventory by brand. Cadillac dealerships had an 83 days supply in April 2025.

As a reminder, the industry sees a 60 days supply as optimal for offering consumers choice while not overloading dealers with units that might linger on their lots and require hefty incentives to move out.

Among GM brands, Cadillac dealer inventory ranks highest. Chevy has the lowest with a 60 days supply, while GMC vehicle selection is good for a 71 days supply Buick dealers have a 75 days supply. Meanwhile, the industry average stands at 66 days, down from a 70 days supply in March 2025.

Comparing Q1 sales to current available in-stock and in-transit Cadillac vehicles across U.S. dealerships, the gas-powered Cadillac Escalade has by far the lowest inventory levels in the brand’s lineup. On the flipside, the Cadillac CT4, Cadillac Escalade IQ and Cadillac Optiq currently have the highest estimated inventory levels.

Cox Automotive stated that there were 2.49 million new vehicles in inventory across U.S. dealers on May 1st, 2025, compared to 2.69 million units on April 1st, representing a 7.4-percent decrease. Inventory is also down 10.5 percent compared to May 1st, 2024. The analysis also mentions that showroom traffic peaked in mid-April and slowed down during the last two weeks of the month, possibly indicating that consumers are turning back to a “more-measured car buying approach.”

Lastly, the average listing price for new vehicles at the end of April was $48,656, a 1.6-percent increase compared to the beginning of the month and a 2.8-percent jump compared to the end of April 2024. The Cadillac brand’s average transaction price jumped in April 2025 compared to the same period in 2024, reaching $76,830.

  1. It would appear to me that Cadillac customers are purchasing ICE powered Escalades while they are still building them.
