The average transaction price for a new Cadillac vehicle jumped substantially in May 2025 compared to the same period last year, and rose compared to April 2025 as well.
According to data provided by Cox Automotive and Kelley Blue Book, the average transaction price for new Cadillac vehicles in the United States stood at $80,002 in May, as opposed to $72,114 in May 2024, representing a hefty increase of 10.9 percent. The April 2025 ATP reached $77,668, representing a month-over-month rise of 3.0 percent.
Across its four core brands, GM’s overall average transaction price in the U.S. reached $54,060, up a notable 5.5 percent compared to May 2024, and up 2.0 percent over April 2025. GM continues to perform above the industry average set at $48,799, which represents a year-over-year increase of 1.0 percent and a microscopic month-over-month decrease of 12 bucks. The Cadillac brand’s month-over-month and year-over-year ATP increases are much higher than that of the industry as a whole.
Sales of the refreshed 2025 Cadillac Escalade increased by 39 percent in Q1 2025, compared to the previous period last year, while the fully electric Escalade IQ launched in late 2024, which could explain the notable average transaction price increase. Meanwhile, XT4 and CT4 sales were down, which are the brand’s most affordable models.
Cox Automotive Executive Analyst Erin Keating explained that “while tariff policy is adding uncertainty to the new-vehicle market, prices are holding remarkably steady, a reminder that auto industry change is often slow. Many automakers are keeping true to a promise to hold the line on pricing, at least in the near term.” Several Cadillac models recently received MSRP and destination freight charge hikes.
That being said, prices may still rise as a result of the Trump administration’s import tariffs. “We are still expecting prices to move higher through the summer, as the inflationary impact of tariffs begins to hit. Right now, we believe dealer profitability is being squeezed, as costs on many products are going up, but raising retails prices in this environment is a real challenge,” stated Keating.
The report also cites an industry-wide incentive spending of 6.8 percent in May 2025, up marginally from the 6.7-percent ratio recorded during the same period last year.
Lastly, the average transaction price for EVs was estimated at $57,734 in May 2025 in the United States, down 2.3 percent compared to the month before, and up 1.9 percent compared to May 2024. Cadillac has recently expanded its electric vehicle lineup to include the Optiq, the Lyriq, the Vistiq, the Escalade IQ, the Escalade IQL and the Celestiq. EVs represented 19.1 percent of all Cadillac vehicle sales in the United States in the first quarter of 2025.

Overall, a decent day to be a Vette.
And a dominating victory it was.
Going in the right direction, but still too high.

The Cadillac question that I have is - why does the Escalade EV weigh double that of a Tesla Model S ? We are talking about a difference of over TWO tons!
It's a land yacht. Have a luxurious idea, just add it on. It's it too heavy for the current battery to power it for 400mi? Add another battery...
You're asking why a luxury, full size SUV weight more than a sedan?
Uhhh.... TWO TONS more is nothing to be concerned about?
ICE powered Escalades are nowhere close to weighing two tons more than any Cadillac sedan. At 4560 lbs., a Tesla Model S is in the same ballpark as a CT5 sedan.
So what are and where are the extra pounds found in the Escalade EV?
