Buick Average Transaction Price Up Significantly In May 2025

The average transaction price for a new Buick vehicle rose significantly in May 2025 compared to the same period last year, while dropping compared to the previous month.

According to data provided by Cox Automotive and Kelley Blue Book, the average transaction price for new Buick vehicles in the United States stood at $34,709 in May, as opposed to $32,879 in May 2024, representing an increase of 5.6 percent. The April 2025 ATP reached $35,617, representing a scant month-over-month decrease of 2.5 percent.

Across its four core brands, GM’s overall average transaction price in the U.S. reached $54,060, up a notable 5.5 percent compared to May 2024, and up 2.0 percent over April 2025. GM continues to perform above the industry average set at $48,799, which represents a year-over-year increase of 1.0 percent and a microscopic month-over-month decrease of 12 bucks. The Buick brand’s year-over-year ATP increase is higher than that of the industry as a whole, but the average selling price for new Buick models is among the lowest in the industry, beating only Mitsubishi ($30,120) and Nissan ($34,223).

Sales of the brand’s four models, including the Buick Envista, the Buick Encore GX, the Buick Envision and the Buick Enclave, were all on the rise in Q1 2025.

Cox Automotive Executive Analyst Erin Keating explained that “while tariff policy is adding uncertainty to the new-vehicle market, prices are holding remarkably steady, a reminder that auto industry change is often slow. Many automakers are keeping true to a promise to hold the line on pricing, at least in the near term.” However, most Buick models recently received MSRP and destination freight charge hikes.

That being said, prices may still rise as a result of the Trump administration’s import tariffs. “We are still expecting prices to move higher through the summer, as the inflationary impact of tariffs begins to hit. Right now, we believe dealer profitability is being squeezed, as costs on many products are going up, but raising retails prices in this environment is a real challenge,” stated Keating.

The report also cites an industry-wide incentive spending of 6.8 percent in May 2025, up marginally from the 6.7-percent ratio recorded during the same period last year.

Lastly, the average transaction price for EVs was estimated at $57,734 in May 2025 in the United States, down 2.3 percent compared to the month before, and up 1.9 percent compared to May 2024. Buick has no electric vehicles in its North American lineup, and the Electra E5 seemingly won’t be introduced as expected.

  1. The Envista is now bordering on overpriced (and the only Avenirs I see are dealer employees driving them near the dealership) and the stupid conquest-only incentives pull loyalists in and then “surprise”.

    1. The Avenit trim level really doesn’t make sense from a value perspective on this vehicle. But, the base model and ST are still a good value for 2025. As for conquest offers, they don’t offer conquest on Envista anyway, right now, but as the name implies, its not for ‘loyalists’, so it doesn’t pull them in anyway. Furthermore, probably close to 50% of Buick buyers have a non-GM vehicle at their address, so they would still qualify for said Conquest incentive.
