General Motors has just officially announced the all-new 2026 Chevy Groove in Mexico, as the redesigned Chevy crossover was simultaneously introduced in the Latin country and in the Middle East.
The automaker debuted the new 2026 Chevy Groove for the Mexican market, confirming the imminent arrival of the second-generation crossover in the country during the third quarter of the year. The new 2026 Groove is said to raise the bar for entry-level utility vehicles with an improved design, more technology equipment, and the strongest powertrain in its class.
“The all-new 2026 Chevrolet Groove redefines the standard in its segment, evolving in terms of design, technology, performance, and safety,” said Chevrolet Marketing Manager at GM Mexico, Ángel Pacheco. “With 52 percent more power, improved safety, and a modern and attractive design, the Groove is here to become the SUV our customers want and can afford,” he added.
As such, Mexico becomes the first international market where the all-new 2026 Chevy Groove is officially announced, with a specific timeline for its local launch. The new 2026 Groove is directly related to the best-selling Chevy Aveo in the country and raises the brand’s stakes in the entry-level crossover segment with the introduction of the top-of-the-line RS trim and up to eight advanced driver-assistance systems.
Mechanically, the 2026 Chevy Groove comes standard with a turbocharged 1.5L I4 engine that develops 149 horsepower and 188 pound-feet of torque across all trim levels, which represents a significant jump from the 105 horsepower of the outgoing generation’s naturally aspirated 1.5L engine. The new motor can be coupled with a six-speed manual transmission in the base variant and a continuously variable automatic in the most equipped ones, including the all-new 2026 Groove RS.
The all-new 2026 Chevy Groove is expected to be officially unveiled in Mexico in the coming weeks and be available for sale during the third quarter of the calendar year, when it’s scheduled to begin arriving at the official Chevrolet dealer network in the country. It will be available with a choice of six exterior colors and a series of special purchase benefits. Equipment details for the 2026 Groove for the Mexican market will be announced soon.

Front end screams “Kia Seltos” and hardly Chevrolet.
why can’t they put this engine in the Trax/Trailblazer or make it an option in the upper trim levels. Definitely in the Envista/Encore GX
Because it’s too close to the lame one in the Equinox/Terrain. And WAY too pricey for the Trax/Envista.
Rowing gears too! GM here, except for the Vette and high end Caddy sedans, forgot what it means to “grab the wheel” and “we build excitement.” I’ll take a 6000 STE over any of these warmed over Kia’s/Hyudanis. The above poster is right on.
I would prefer to have that engine in my trailblazer for sure.
I seriously doubt putting a 1.5L turbo four-cylinder motor in the Trax, Envista, and Encore GX would cost significantly more than the lame 1.2L and 1.3L three-pots we’re saddled with in the USA. If that were truly the case then GM wouldn’t be using it in this new entry-level sub-compact CUV in Mexico.
Bring this GM product to the U.S. to kill Japanese and Korean sales.
If the 2026 Chevrolet Groove is good enough for Mexico then it’s sure as heck good enough for the USA. Bring it here at the right price without unnecessary frills and you’ll have customers seeking an affordable, no-nonsense new vehicle with a warranty lined up around the block in every state in the Union.
