The 2025 model year was a big one for the full-size SUV segment. GM’s T1-based SUVs got a thorough refresh, the Ford Expedition was redesigned, and so was the Nissan Armada. Now, the 2026 Nissan Armada NISMO joins the SUV’s lineup as the on-road performance variant, set to compete with the Chevy Tahoe RST.
“The new Armada NISMO brings a bold, sporty edge to the lineup, joining the tough PRO-4X and the upscale Platinum Reserve. It’s all about giving drivers more of what they’re looking for,” Nissan U.S. Marketing and Sales Senior Vice President Vinay Shahani said. “No matter where you’re headed – on the highway, off the beaten path, or way off the grid – there’s an Armada built for the journey.”
Power for the 2026 Nissan Armada NISMO still comes from a twin-turbo 3.5L V6, but with a performance tune bringing its output to 460 horsepower – 35 hp more than the rest of the lineup and 40 hp more than the 6.2L V8 L87 available in the Tahoe. Other performance upgrades include a performance exhaust system, special tuning for the steering and adaptive air suspension system, and sportier tires.
Then there’s the sporty appearance package, further diversifying the model range of the recently redesigned Armada. The Nissan Armada NISMO looks the part with a unique body package, a huge front grille, “NISMO” badging in front and back, 22-inch wheels, red brake calipers, fender flares, red trim, and an aggressive rear spoiler.
The styling enhancements continue in the expansive interior of the Nissan Armada NISMO. It has quilted leather seats with red accents, power-adjustable bolsters for the front seats, aluminum pedals, and “NISMO” branding on the steering wheel and headrests. The engine bay is also dressed up with red trim on the engine cover and a “NISMO” badge.
The 2026 Nissan Armada NISMO will arrive in dealerships this Fall. It will likely be priced in the $70k range, in the same neighborhood as the Platinum and PRO-4X trims. For reference, the 2025 Chevy Tahoe RST starts at $69,195 with the base 5.3L V8 L84 engine.

I love a sport truck but this looks kinda silly
Call it what it is, childish and ugly. Not anyones cup of tea. It will not be moving any RST buyers to Nissan.
Looks a big ugly shoebox! Won’t phase Tahoe RST sales at all.
What a hideous looking pos!
WOW, is Nissan building Aztec’s now.
Looks kind of fun. However, that $70K estimate is way off. A loaded Platinum Armada currently lists at over $80K. I would expect this Nismo variant to easily top $80K after options and dealer markups [yes, Nissan dealers will mark these up just because “Nismo”.]
Kudos to Nissan for having some fun with their full-size SUV offering.
In one word UGLY
Looks like they forgot about adding some ground clearance….seems kinda low
No wonder Nissan is in financial trouble…
Shoe box! Ugly one at that!
Hmm, not enough red accents LOL
Nice cigar box on wheels.
Wonderful appearance, and the interior also looks quite attractive!
However, to be honest, this is a car for VERY wealthy people, because its daily maintenance is not available to EVERYONE!
Due to widely known circumstances, and its own design!
So, – JUST ADMIRE IT!
Looks like they sent it to a van up-fitting shop. Those 1980’s era body extensions…seriously?
Nevermind the appearance; the twin-turbo V6 makes it a non-starter for me!
At least Armadas used to have V8’s; I guess they decided to bow to the environmentalists.
I’ll take a naturally-aspirated V8 over a twin-turbo V6 any day. Especially in THAT price range!
