2026 GMC Sierra 1500 To Offer New Elevation Select Package

The 2026 GMC Sierra 1500 marks the final year for the fifth-gen light-duty pickup, preceding a next-gen redesign set to arrive in 2027. As such, changes for the 2026 model year are minimal, with only a few small updates on the docket. Nevertheless, customers will be offered the new Elevation Select Package, available exclusively for the mid-level Elevation trim.

The 2026 GMC Sierra 1500 will offer a new Elevation Select package.

The Elevation Select Package is tagged with RPO code RGJ and bundles together a variety of functional upgrades for the 2026 GMC Sierra Elevation. The package includes the following equipment (relevant RPO codes listed in parentheses):

  • 4-inch Black tubular assist steps (RPO code RVS)
  • Spray-on bedliner (RPO code CGN)
  • All-weather floor liners (RPO code RIA)
  • 275/60R20SL all-terrain tires (RPO code QAE)

This package is only available in combination with the TurboMax turbocharged 2.7L I4 L3B engine, which means customers will need to forego the optional 5.3L V8 L84 gasoline engine and the 3.0L I6 LZ0 turbodiesel Duramax that are also available for the Elevation. Notably, each item in the new Elevation Select package remains available as a standalone option.

Official pricing information has yet to be announced, but adding up the pricing for each of the individual items in the package, customers can expect to pay around $2,060.

In addition to the new Elevation Select package, the 2026 GMC Sierra 1500 also introduces two new paint colors, namely Glacier White Tricoat (paint code G4J) and Coastal Dune (paint code G42). Production of the 2026 Sierra 1500 is scheduled to begin slightly earlier than originally expected, and is now set to kick off on June 28th, 2025. Assembly will take place at the GM Fort Wayne Assembly plant in Indiana and GM Silao Assembly plant in Guanajuato, Mexico, though it remains unclear whether both locations will begin production simultaneously on the same date.

With the 2026 model serving as a carryover year, the more transformative updates are reserved for the 2027 GMC Sierra 1500, which will usher in a whole new generation for the pickup. Highlights will include GM’s next-gen Small Block V8, a plug-in hybrid powertrain, revamped styling, an upgraded interior, and the updated T1-2 architecture.
