The 2026 Corvette introduces a series of enhancements for the mid-engine C8 covering both function and design, highlighted most prominently by a refreshed interior. Notably, one of the more practical interior details is a new passenger grab handle. Now, GM Authority is taking a closer look.
Positioned near the center console (previously dubbed the “wall of buttons” on pre-refresh models), this new feature provides added stability for occupants during spirited driving. Previously, the C7 Corvette was also equipped with a passenger grab handle that made it easier for passengers to brace themselves against lateral G-forces. However, the C7 offered dual grip points, including one on the console and one on the door, while the refreshed C8 is equipped with only one. Still, the reintroduction of any grab handle marks a considerable improvement over the pre-refresh model, especially for those owners who like to take a passenger along on track days or twisty backroad excursions.
As GM Authority has covered extensively, the 2026 model year bring several important changes to the C8 lineup, in particular in the cabin. One of the big headlines is a new three-screen infotainment setup, with drivers now surrounded by a 14-inch digital driver display, a 12.7-inch central touchscreen, and a 6.6-inch auxiliary screen to the left of the steering wheel.
Interior personalization options expand as well, with customers offered a new asymmetrical Jet Black and Adrenaline Red colorway, plus additional interior color combinations like Sky Cool with Medium Ash Gray and Habanero accents, Santorini Blue, Very Dark Atmosphere, and Ultimate Suede.
Performance updates are also on the list, including the debut of the new PTM Pro mode, which deactivates stability and traction systems for experienced drivers seeking maximum control over vehicle dynamics. For the twin-turbocharged ZR1, customers can opt for the ZTK brake package, which includes carbon ceramic rotors and high-performance 10-piston front and six-piston rear calipers.
Underneath the skin, every 2026 Corvette rides on the mid-engine GM Y2 platform. Vehicle assembly continues at the GM Bowling Green plant in Kentucky, which has served as the exclusive producer of the Corvette nameplate since 1981.
