The 2026 model year will mark the fourth production year for the third-generation Chevy Colorado, which continues to gain momentum in the highly competitive midsize truck segment. While major updates aren’t anticipated for 2026, minor changes, such as new paint colors, are on the way to keep the lineup fresh as General Motors prepares for the upcoming production cycle. Now, GM Authority has details about a new paint option for the 2026 Chevy Colorado.
The 2026 Chevy Colorado will be available in White Sands (color code G42), which is also new for a few other Chevy models, including the Silverado 1500 and the Trailblazer. White Sands (pictured on a Trailblazer above) is a subtle beige color available for the Trail Boss and ZR2 trims of the Colorado.
White Sands effectively replaces Harvest Bronze Metallic (GXN) in the Chevy Colorado’s color palette. Harvest Bronze Metallic was one of eight paint colors offered on the 2025 Chevy Colorado and was first introduced for the 2023 model year. Like White Sands for 2026, it was a no-charge color offered on the Trail Boss and the ZR2 trim levels but was not available on the WT, LT, or Z71 trims of the pickup.
We reported last month when Harvest Bronze Metallic became unavailable to order on the 2025 Chevy Colorado. It was built out during the week of May 12th, 2025. We predicted at the time that White Sands could be the paint option that replaces it.
Production of the 2026 Chevy Colorado is scheduled to begin on July 1st. Manufacturing will continue at the GM Wentzville Assembly plant in Missouri alongside the mechanically similar GMC Canyon.
Power for the Colorado and Canyon comes from the turbocharged 2.7L I4 L3B gasoline engine (branded as TurboMax), rated at 310 horsepower and 430 pound-feet of torque. Meanwhile, under the skin, both pickups ride on the updated 31XX-2 platform.

Why is Harvest Bronz Metallic not offered for the LT Colorado?
I’d buy it right now.
Henry is right with the comment.
I wonder if/when the Colorado updates will offer a hybrid version? Since they are planning this for the Silverado it only makes sense to have it on the mid size offerings. And the current fuel mileage is weak.
That should be a full interior color option! Then I’d buy one.
Are you telling us there is no black, gray or white???
