General Motors launched the all-electric Cadillac Lyriq luxury crossover for the 2023 model year, with the latest 2026 Cadillac Lyriq set to debut a few notable updates and changes, the biggest of which is the introduction of the Lyriq-V as the first-ever EV in Cadillac’s V-Series. Another change to the Lyriq for 2026 is its trim names.
Previously, the trims of the Cadillac Lyriq consisted of Luxury 1, Luxury 2, Luxury 3, Sport 1, Sport 2, and Sport 3. The new trim names are Luxury, Premium Luxury, Signature Luxury, Sport, Premium Sport, and Signature Sport. In other words, “Premium” is the new “2,” and “Signature” is the new “3.” Trim content will be largely unchanged; these are essentially just new names for existing trim levels.
This isn’t the only Cadillac model shifting its trim names from numbers to words. The Cadillac Escalade IQ just came out in the 2025 model year with the trim names Luxury 1, Sport 1, Luxury 2, and Sport 2. They’ve already changed for 2026; the trims with “2” in the name are now Luxury Premium and Sport Premium.
We reported last month that the start of regular production (SORP) for the 2026 Cadillac Lyriq will officially begin on July 28th, 2025. Dealers will be able to configure and save orders starting May 29th, 2025, while order processing is set to commence in mid-June. Of course, these dates are always subject to change. The Lyriq-V, however, is already being produced, with customer deliveries currently underway.
Beyond the trim level lineup, the 2026 Cadillac Lyriq is expected to introduce a new paint option, with Crystal White Tricoat (color code G1W) replaced by a new hue named Vibrant White Tricoat (color code G4J).
The 2026 Cadillac Lyriq builds on improvements made with the launch of the 2025 model, which, as covered previously, offers enhanced range over the 2024 model year. The 2025 Lyriq is now rated at a maximum range of 326 miles (RWD configurations), a small but not-insignificant increase from the 314-mile range offered by the 2024 model.
Production of the 2026 Cadillac Lyriq will continue to take place at the GM Spring Hill plant in Tennessee. Under the skin, you’ll find the GM BEV3 platform, shared with the 3-row Cadillac Vistiq built in the same factory.
Comments
they should also change EV paint colors to Republican Red, Democrat Blue, Woke White, etc.
Geriatric Grey…. especially with the Vistiq. They’ve taken a massive step in the right direction but the paint options are so dull and uninspired
