2025 GMC Hummer EV SUV: What’s Different From 2024

Compared to the 2024 model year, the 2025 GMC Hummer EV SUV receives several minor changes consistent with a model year changeover.

Model Cadence

The 2025 GMC Hummer EV SUV represents the second model year of the electric super SUV, since the model was launched as the 2024 GMC Hummer EV SUV.

Model Line

The model line doesn’t see any changes for the 2025 model year, continuing to be offered in a single body configuration (large SUV) across two trim levels – 2X (1SF) and 3X (1SG).

Exterior

The exterior sees the deletion of an existing exterior color and the addition of a new one:

Graphite Blue Metallic (new for 2025)

Tide Metallic (discontinued)

Afterburner Tintcoat (discontinued)

Neptune Blue Matte (discontinued)

Supernova Metallic (discontinued)

Interior

Inside, we see the addition of the Premium carpeted floor mats (LPO VYW) as a stand-alone, dealer-installed option on either of the two trims.

Powertrain & Charging

There are no changes to the mechanical bits of the 2025 GMC Hummer EV SUV, with the electric supertruck continuing to be offered in either a two- or three-motor configuration and with one battery that delivers a maximum of 311 or 314 miles of driving range per charge, respectively.

Charging rates and times similarly carry over.

However, the 2025 Hummer EV SUV adds a NACS DC Adapter (LPO RYZ) intended for public use on NACS fast charging stations, including Tesla Supercharger, IONNA, EVgo, and others (for CCS native inlet vehicle). It’s available on both 2X and 3X trims.

Additionally, the GM Energy PowerShift Residential bidirectional charger joins the options list. It delivers up to 19.2 kW of 80-amp charging requiring a hardwired connection with 25-foot length cord included, and is available on both 2X or 3X. This charger requires professional installation for warranty, and installation is not included with the purchase. Note that this new bidirectional charger joins the previously-available GM PowerUp2 Charger (LPO 5CH).

Packages

Two package-level changes round out the changes to the 2025 GMC Hummer EV SUV.

First is the addition of the Dark Essentials Package (LPO PDB), which includes Black Emblems (LPO RIK), a Black Rear D-Ring Recovery Hook (LPO SDA), and 22-inch Gloss Black Painted Aluminum wheels (LPO PHY) only for the 3X trim, since the 2X includes these wheels as standard. The package is available on both the 2X and 3X trims.

GMC Hummer EV SUV Omega Edition (discontinued for 2025)

Finally, the Omega Edition (WFP) package is discontinued. It was introduced for the 2024 model year only on the 3X trim and included the following features:

• Infinity Roof with transparent Sky Panels (CC3)
• Black Emblems (LPO RIK)
• Spare Tire Cover in Neptune Blue Matte (SAW) LPO
• Thatcham Wheel Locks (LPO SFE)
• 18-inch Gloss Black Beadlock Wheel with Carbon Flash Decorative Ring (LPO SYW)
• Wheel Center Cap in Black with HUMMER EV Logo (LPO 5ZF)
• Premium Carpet Floor Inserts (LPO VYW)
• Accessory LPO wheels are a second set of wheels

As GM Authority has reported before, moving the $140K Omega Edition Hummer EVs has not been easy for GMC.

Looking Ahead

Production of the 2025 GMC Hummer EV SUV will end mid-July 2025, at which point GM will start building the 2026 model. GM has already announced some of the more noteworthy changes to the 2026 GMC Hummer EV range last month.
