2025 Ford F-150 Lobo Launches To Rival Chevy Silverado RST

The 2025 Ford F-150 Lobo has officially debuted as the newest entry in the full-size truck’s lineup. It’s a “street truck” that emphasizes style and performance over off-road capability, similar to the smaller Ford Maverick Lobo that debuted last summer.

The Ford F-150 Lobo has a unique appearance package that lowers the truck by two inches and adds ground effects to make it appear lower still. It has black exterior trim throughout the exterior, including the hood vents, exhaust tips, and badging. It also comes with a unique set of 22-inch gloss black wheels, a cowl hood, and a front light strip across the grille.

The Ford F-150 Lobo is essentially an option package for the F-150 STX, which is slotted between the base XL and the midrange XLT. It comes exclusively with a SuperCrew body, the STX’s Mid package, a 3.73 final drive ratio, four-wheel drive, and the Coyote 5.0L V8 rated at 400 horsepower and 410 pound-feet of torque. It doesn’t come with any additional performance upgrades other than the mandatory V8, but Ford says that “we know some will take this great foundation for future personalization.”

In addition to the stuff you have to add to unlock the Lobo package, it adds an extra $4,695, making the total base price of the 2025 Ford F-150 Lobo $60,490. Orders are open now for the new F-150 variant. Price-wise, that places the Lobo between the XLT and the Lariat trims, as we predicted when we showed you spy shots last month.

As for GM competition, the closest rival to the Ford F-150 Lobo is the Chevy Silverado 1500 RST. The two approach the sporty pickup truck ethos a little differently, and Chevy doesn’t call the Silverado RST a “street truck.”

But the two are priced similarly; the Silverado 1500 RST starts in the mid-$50k range. A big difference is that the Lobo has one engine option, and the Silverado RST has four: the 2.7L I4 L3B, the turbodiesel 3.0L I6 LZ0, the 5.3L V8 L84, and the 6.2L V8 L87. Also, the RST can be had with either 2WD or 4WD.

  • It's just the rear that's lowered, and no mention if that 4wd is the differential type like was featured on the Escalade or a clutch type. A differtential type is vastly better for street performance.

  • That's a pretty sweet truck, especially if you get the supercharger package from Ford. Well done, Ford.

  • Love that stance. GM is really missing the market on nice 2 inch lowered street truck. Offer it in N/A form, but also a supercharger factory package for $9999. It would sell very well because people could finance it instead of coming up with it out of pocket. The American dream!! See it all the time.
