The 2025 GMC Canyon marks the third model year for the third generation of GMC’s midsize pickup. Initially launched for the 2023 model year, the latest 2025 iteration introduces several notable updates, including additional standard features, three new paint options, and revised package content. Now, GM Authority can confirm that one of its wheel options is more widely available than it was previously.
The 20-inch Black aluminum wheels (LPO code SNX) previously came exclusively with the $3,495 Denali Black Edition (RPO code PCR) on the Denali trim level. Now, these dark and stylish wheels are available as a $1,895 option on the Elevation 4WD and AT4 trims of the 2025 GMC Canyon. Notably, they can’t be optioned with the Elevation 2WD model.
Also of note, they’re not available on the AT4 trim if you add the AT4X Package (XEW) or the AT4X AEV Edition (XEV). Remember, AT4X is now an option package rather than a standalone trim. The Canyon AT4X has 17-inch Black High Gloss Machined Finish aluminum wheel (R34) and the AEV Edition has 17-inch Beadlock capable wheel with laser etching and AEV center cap (RPM).
The 20-inch black wheels also can’t be combined with the new-for-2025 Nightfall Edition (XNF) on the AT4 trim. That option package comes with its own set of 20-inch Machine Faced aluminum wheel with Dark Pockets (RHO).
Pricing for the 2025 GMC Canyon currently starts at $40,095, which is the base price for the Elevation trim with rear-wheel drive. At the high end, the range-topping Denali variant carries a starting price of $53,695. These prices include the destination freight charge that recently increased from $1,595 to $1,695. Last December, the website configurator came online and is an available tool for potential buyers.
The 2.7L I4 L3B gasoline TurboMax engine is found beneath the hood of the Canyon as its sole powerplant. This engine cranks out 310 horsepower and 430 pound-feet of torque and is paired with the GM eight-speed automatic transmission. Configurations include 2WD and 4WD.
The GMC Canyon continues to ride on the updated 31XX-2 platform under the sheet metal. The Canyon is built at the GM Wentzville plant in Missouri, which also assembles the Chevy Colorado pickup, the Chevy Express van, and the GMC Savana van.
Comments
The Denali black edition was a waste of money. It didn’t even give you the black badging, didn’t remove the chrome mirror caps, chrome door handles or the chrome grill..
Yuck. I don’t understand why people want black wheels.
20+” wheels on trucks is a trend that needs to die so bad.
Since the SORP for the 2026 Canyon/Colorado starts on July 7th, when is the 2026 Colorado/Canyon configurator/Build and Buy page going live for the public?
In other words since production for the 2026 Colorado/Canyon starts in less than 6 weeks, when can we start to configure our 2026 Colorado/Canyons and see the trims, options, and pricing?
Gimme a six-foot bed already. No tax credits for commercial owners with a playpen sized bed. Wheels like these aren’t essential.
