According to a recently issued Customer Satisfaction Program from GM, some 2025 Chevy Tahoe and 2025 Chevy Suburban customers were charged for an option they never received. The option in question is a set of dealer-installed Black lug nuts (RPO code SPY), which is a $295 option on all trim levels of the Tahoe and Suburban. The GM bulletin number is N252502270.
In some cases, “the customer was mistakenly charged for accessory black wheel lug nuts that were not received or could not be installed,” according to the bulletin. GM’s solution is to issue reimbursement checks in the amount of $325 to affected customers. It’s unclear at this time how many SUV buyers are affected.
Although these black lug nuts are optional across the Chevy Tahoe and Chevy Suburban model ranges, they can’t be ordered in conjunction with any of their LPO wheel options. This could’ve been part of the problem; black lug nuts may have been ordered with LPO wheels and they weren’t compatible. The black lug nuts also can’t be ordered with the RST trim’s standard 22-inch bright machined High Gloss Black painted wheels (SGF) or the High Country’s optional 24-inch bright machined and painted High Gloss Black wheels (RF2).
Headlining 2025 model-year updates to the Tahoe and Suburban, the 3.0L I6 LZ0 turbodiesel Duramax engine replaces the previous diesel powerplant, providing 305 horsepower and 495 pound-feet of torque. This engine became available in March 2025. The two gasoline powerplants carried forward from 2024 consist of the naturally aspirated 5.3L V8 L84 gasoline engine rated at 355 horsepower and 383 pound-feet of torque and the naturally aspirated 6.2L V8 L87 gasoline engine cranking out 420 horsepower and 460 pound-feet of torque.

Like the foregoing model years, the 2025 full-size SUVs are underpinned by the GM T1 platform. The Tahoe and Suburban continue to roll off the assembly line exclusively at the GM Arlington plant in Texas, with regular production starting in October 2024.

Stop the world from turning! This is a disaster! You’d think in this day and age with all the other problems we have…
3 bills for a bunch of nuts I can buy at Handy Andy for fifty cents? You would think GM were selling these things to the Pentagon. This is nuts! I just bought a whole set of Douglas tires at Walmart for our ‘09 Rondo for that. Installed them too!
I’m sure they’ll be ok as long as the motors don’t seize up
gypies tramps and thieves
More losing with mediocrity.
No way. We are great again. I’m tired of winning and getting all of these beautiful deals. Trophy wives for everyone!
I’m so glad Mary was named a powerful woman in today’s business world. No that she has the trophy, how about focusing your team on product issues, quality issues, constraints and everything else that screws up GM product on a weekly basis.
300 for lug nuts. You can get on Amazon for $30. Someone could make a living selling lug nuts.
