Road Raging Chevy Silverado Self-Pits On Lexus Crossover: Video

We’ve all been there – you’re driving down the road, minding your own business, when all of a sudden, another motorist does something very, very stupid. Maybe they cut you off or ride your rear bumper, but whatever they do, it gets under your skin. Your first reaction will likely be an impulse to retaliate, but as we’ve seen from countless viral videos, the tit-for-tat attitude tends to result in some pretty ugly situations. Now, we’re seeing exactly that as a road raging Chevy Silverado driver decides to self-pit against the fender of a Lexus crossover.

Road raging Chevy Silverado moments before a crash.

The video was recently posted to social media, and, according to the graphic overlay, was captured in Oklahoma. The video also appears as though it was shot on a phone by another motorist who witnessed the incident play out right in front of them.

As the video opens, we see a broad two-lane freeway, with light traffic in both lanes. There are clear, blue skies above, while the pavement is clean and dry.

Up ahead, we see a red Chevy Silverado in the leftmost lane. The Chevy slowly drifts to the right, revealing a Lexus crossover directly in front of it. As the Chevy accelerates ahead, we see it then dart back the left, directly next to the Lexus crossover, causing the Lexus to move onto the shoulder before the pickup shifts back towards the center of the lane.

It’s immediately obvious that the drivers in these two vehicles are battling one another in fits of road rage. The Silverado moves back behind the Lexus before darting around traffic into an exit lane, only to attempt to move in front of the Lexus a second time. This time, however, the Lexus driver opts not to move, and the two vehicles collide.

You can probably guess what comes next. The two vehicles move as a pair into the center divider in a cloud of smoke. As the two vehicles hit the wall, we see debris litter the highway.

Not exactly brilliant for either driver, really.

  1. This is attempted murder at the worst and aggravated battery with a vehicle. Both serious felonies. The Chev driver is looking at pen time. Also, his insurance will not cover him for a clearly intentional act. There are policy exclusions. He’s looking at two totaled vehicles and injuries. The Lexus underinsured and uninsured coverage will compensate the Lexus driver. Then that insurance company will file a subrogation claim against the Chevy driver.

If a driver is out raged like this, back off and get behind. Slow down and let them pass. They can’t control what is behind them. This works for drunk drivers too. Stay behind.

    1. I wonder if the Lexus driver was driving under the speed limit? Or maybe he was blocking this fellow’s way?

        1. Exactly. Driver of the Sliverado has issues! There was a pickup truck in front of the Lexus and a car in front of the pickup. They were passing slower traffic in that was in the center lane! Lexus driver had no where to go. Even if the Lexus driver would have moved over into the center lane the Silverado still could not have went any where! Then the Silverado swerved from the fast lane across the center lane into the right lane. He then swerved back into the center lane cutting off the person in the center lane to get back beside the Lexus. He then looses whats left of his mind and slams into the side of the Lexus. PURE aggressive driving and a case of road rage! I hope they file charges against the Silverado driver!

    2. Plus, the Silverado driver will almost certainly be sued by the Lexus driver and again, his insurance won’t pay that either. Unless he’s rich, he’s likely looking at bankruptcy, totaled truck, and possible criminal charges.

    But
People driving in the left lane beside a vehicle in the right lane so no one can get by is a BIG thing here in NS. I don’t understand the reason for wanting to stop people from passing or wanting to control others speed. Or why these A Hol3s need to drive slow in the left lane. But it’s a thing the cops should be doing more about. And if you flash your lights at these AHoles they will brake Check you. I always move right and let faster vehicles pass. Great to have someone else keeping the police busy instead of me.

  4. Low self control seems to be more prevalent these days. And not just on the roads.

  7. This is in Oklahoma City, I believe this was last year. The driver had been very aggressive to other vehicles as well, this person didn’t submit like other vehicles had before hand. I’m pretty sure the OKC PD and OHP was looking for him. I do believe he ran other people off the road before hand.
